live in "normal" america, and i laugh at the closed minded heterosexual
people that live their miserable lives passing judgment on innocent
people.
a closed mind is a good thing. it doesnt allow unnatural lifestyles to come in and get comfortable and disguise itself as norma.
i'll take a closed mind any day of the week.

NICO LUCIANO's a Primo Restaurant! Try it out, you will be pleasantly
surprised!

03/27/08 (14) "Jumped all over? lol oh that is cute. I, or the someone I
am siding with, simply stated she address the neighbor with her problem,
afterall it is with them that she has the problem. By doing so, she
could potentially get the problem solved and still remain 'friendly'
with them."
My impression of the response was that it was a bit smart (dare I say
smartypants?), but if you say it was not meant to be I will accept that.
However, it is possible that that is not a possibility and that is why
the original poster came to SoundOff to find a suggestion of last
resort.

You want to see a coach who cares about his team look no further than
Bill Gottuso - hopefully he will be rewarded by his girls with a section
win in 2008!

I love bravo thank you for allowing us to watch it.

Listen up the best looking men in this town last name ends with a "R"
WOW they are all so good looking......

03/27/08 (29) "I have this new friend and he is male and I cannot tell
if he likes boys or girls. Does anyone have a way to find out without
coming out and asking him? He is really wealthy and not married."
Ask him if he watches Bravo.
Seriously, if you are friends ask him if he is seeing anyone in an
appropriate conversation. If he answers "no," ask him about past
relationships. However, you may not get a straight (ha, ha) answer if he
thinks you are flirting but is not interested, or if he is gay and
closeted.

say DUNCE on it because only a DUNCE wouldnt be able to see that."
Great comeback. Does everyone remember what started this discussion
about Bravo, the dreaded network that promotes homosexuality? Somebody
asked about two TV shows called the Real Housewives of Orange County, or
New York. I just looked up them up and they have NOTHING to do with
Gays. Nothing! All of the housewives are, were or intend to be married
to men, and one of the housewives is listed as a devout Christian. All
of this because some poor Ellwoodian wanted to know if anyone else was
watching a reality show!
Great come back...lol The best part about it was the person never
disputed they had a "thick skull or narrow mind" only that they didn't
wear a hat and the fact they are EXTREMELY homophobic which normally
translates to some unresolved feelings that he/she is trying to hide. :)

For those of you who do not get the Ledger. Spring clean up is the 12th
and 19th curbside. and I do want to say the Ledger has finally changed
for the good. It now carries most of Ellwood City's events and etc.
Would love to see Carol Gibbons be our Mayor. OH if I was only younger
I'd do it myself. Barbara Franus Osborne

RE: 03/27/08 (22)
Why is it legal for EC police cruisers to be going around 60mph across
the bridge? Please know that the emergency lights were NOT on nor was
the siren. They set up speed traps in that area...and then speed through
them themselves. What a great example they are setting!
Maybe this wasnt the case, but there are times when the police have to
respond to a 'silent' call... one where they dont want to give away the
fact that they are on their way, and give the criminal time to escape.
03/28/08 (13)
To people livining near the bowling alley...there are 2 large dogs (I
think they are Mastiffs) roaming around the area. They have already
attacked one child, and also penned a resident in her home and bit a man
trying to catch them. They are aggressive!! Tell your children to stay
away! If you see these animals, please do not attempt to catch them.
Call the state police. The ellwood police will do nothing, but the state
police will show up. Just putting it out there...I do not want to see
anyone else get hurt. And if you are the owners of these dogs, shame on
you for not trying to find them! Thanks!
03/28/08 (14)
If you don't already have plans for Saturday, stop by Thanks A Latte.
Students from Studio P will be singing. Baskets will be raffled, all
proceeds to benefit baby Gavin Meyers. 7:00 showtime!
03/28/08 (15)
Had food from Nico Luciano's (in former Main Gate building, First
Street) Excellent food, reasonable prices, huge menu.....good job to Bob
and family!
I have to agree with you. Had the Stuffed Eggplant and it was excellent.
Will definately stop again.

There are many times, while answering a call for help, that the police
don't use lights or sirens. Mostly because they don't want to alert
people they are coming. A siren can be heard all over town when used.
Our great state legislature passed a law saying that when police or fire
vehicles have their lights on, they must use sirens too. So there are
calls that require a rapid response but where you don't want the bad guy
to know you are coming. Now, having said that, Do you know if that is
the case at the time you saw the cruiser or do you just want to complain
about the police? From your letter, I think you probably got a speeding
ticket. There is a better answer to this than complaining about the
police. Don't Speed!

what does TD stand for?
03/28/08 (20)
why, oh why was Chickadee voted off American Idol? I voted 5times to
keep him on and it took me two hours to get all my calls answered....if
only for one more night, I could hear him sing...I did not know that he
used to live in Park Gate. Did he go to EC?

wish whomever he is, he would call me. I would love to chat with him. I

nice voice on the phone too.
How old is TD?
03/28/08 (24)
Mr. TD guy, where can I bring you a piece of homemade pie?
You are a true ellwoodian, it is true
I wish I could talk to you.
When I see you muscles work,
I can't help but to smirk.
You are sweet, I know for a fact,
Please let me see your act.

The will of the majority will prevail, sooner or later enough people
will tire of the mayhem and the mayhem will start hitting everyone, not
just the black communities, and there will be more instances of many
students and others getting killed by gunmen and the legislature will
find the pressure mounting for sensible gun controls, and the majority
will say that enough is enough when they feel that they themselves are
threatened. Democracy is a slow, cumbersome process but when our
legislators feel the heat from the other side, they will respond.
Everyone will be allowed to carry a gun, a single shot musket for
everyone, the gun the constitution said we could carry, try to execute a
mass murder with that. A slow evolution of reason over the mayhem we now
endure. Either that or we will be shooting each other like the Iraqis,
we have the guns to do it don't we?? I guess you don't think 30,000
shooting victims a year in America is mayhem, as long as it isn't you or
yours.

none of that changes the fact that the bravo station is basically a
homosexual station and promotes it regularly although subtley . they can
throw in a show about something else to disguise it but its not hard to
see. next !!!

Okay, with this whole coaches deal. Get a life! First off, I play on one
of the Ellwood City teams and the coaches care a lot. They take the time
out of their day, 6 days out of their week, to come and help us. We are
a team that wins...a lot. And yes, we are a very skilled team but the
support of our coaches plays a significant role, also, they keep us
pumped up and always reminding us that we are talented. Finally, trying
to use COACHES as an excuse to why kids are doing drugs! WOWWW, coaches
have nothing to do with that, unfortunatlely that is from the parents
that they have. If you think you should say something about the coaches,
think again, because you don't play for them and we do.
03/28/08 (30)
Can someone please tell me when the next Ellport council meeting is. I
would like to know the date and time.
03/28/08 (31)
With this years Great Fourth of July Festival coming up in a few months.
May I please offer some suggestions that the health department really
look at this year and make sure the people serving food in booths have
hats, plastic gloves on and or hairnets.
Last year there were many I witnessed without these items on .
Are any of these people affiliated or certified with some type of
training for sanitary purposes such as Serv Safe.
And do these organizations preparing food know or test for proper
cooking /handling temperatures .
Just wondering its better to be safe then have something happen at such
a wonderful community event.
Does the festival committee require them to have some type of
certification ? Do these booths get inspected by a health official prior
to opening at the festival?
If they do not require certifications maybe in the future this is
something that the committee should consider.

I thought my pun was rather cute. It rhymes with "separation of church
and state;" get it? Anyhow, if people use terms like Common Era rather
than AD they are trying to make the dating system universal because a
good portion of the world is not Christian. AD, CE, BCE, BC or ABC
123--who cares as long as we know what we are talking about?

Ladies can remove deer carcasses just like men...the trouble with you
men in Ellwood is that you're all lazy and would rather just drive
around the deer. This Mr. TD guy is a role model that all of you
derelicts in Ellwood City should look up to and emulate.
RE: ~~~This I agree with simply on what has been posted about this
MYSTERY TD~~~ but if He is an example/role model, I would like
information on WHAT to meet with this mystery man... I am very
interested in morals, I have read many posting and have a idea who this
man is sounds to me like He could be Heaven&Hell all in one package.
Please post info on how to meet this man...
03/27/08 (02)
The comment made about... "90 Percent of the coaches don't care. They
truly don't and you can't tell anyone that they do. If they did then
maybe the comments wouldn't surface that the coaches are bad. If they
actually cared and thought about the kids...".... are not true in most
cases. Coaching requires a lot of personal time and dedication. However,
there are very good programs in the Ellwood area with very dedicated
coaches.... cross country, boys golf, girls softball just to name a few.
These coaches have proven to win and are doing a fine job with our
children so please don't stereotype all coaches together!!!
03/27/08 (03)
03/26/08 (26) "What don't you like about democracy? It's slow and
cumbersome, but eventually the will of the majority will prevail."
We love democracy. Look at what happened to the Congress when they
passed the Brady Bill. Currently no bill against the people's right to
bear arms gets out of committee in our legislature.
"A slow and steady evolution of reason over mayhem."
You already posted this. Are you going to post the same thing over and
over? Please stop calling eroding rights an evolution towards reason
because it is the opposite.

Dear Cheapo...Sure I have a 2005 12' Alumacraft in mint condition. It
has a full carpeted floor, 2 livewells, batteries, full electronics and
GPS navigational system, a 2007 Honda 4 stroke with only 5 hours of use
on it. I purchased the boat for $20,000 last year, but its just taking
up space in my garage and collecting dust. There is one catch however,
it is yours free as long as you come haul it away. I would certainly
haul it over to you, but I gave away the trailer last week to a needy

well hows cortez or the principal going to evaluate the coaches when
neither of them has ever coached and i seriously doubt have any
knowledge of what it takes to coach anywhere especially in ellwood.
thats what a athletic director is for. hire a experienced one and then
get the h_ _ l out of the way and dont stick your nose in anymore and
maybe ellwood will get things turned around. the trouble in ellwood is
we got board members and principals trying to act like coaches.

Attention EC Residents -Make it a point to drive to West End to see the
"new" street lights....this is what your neighborhood will be dealing
with when they get installed. There is absolutely no comparison to the
old lights. You think crime was bad before, just wait.....this puts all
residents at risk for crime....just so the boro can say use the grant
money. I do not feel safe to leave my house after dark now. PLEASE TAKE
A LOOK AT THE NEW LIGHTS BEFORE THEY ARE INSTALLED IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD
- they are not the same ....might as well just attach flash lights to
telephone poles with duck tape....sorry boro members, you failed on this
one - the $$ could have been put to a better use. More crime means we'll
have to hire more "high paid" police officers. Now, how will that save
the taxpayers money???

Society promotes homosexuality not bravo. How can a tv channel promote
this wake up and look around its been around for decades. You must have
a phobia if you do not like to watch bravo. these are talented men and
women who have produced a show that society of all kinds can watch.
you got to be kidding ! i got a phobia alright, its called homophobia
and i recognize it when i see it and the bravo channel reeks of it. also
society doesnt promote that, just the homosexual community with its far
left agenda does. here in normal america we still laugh at it
Now you sound like someone we know... lumping everyone into your bigoted

03/25/08 (09) "That is my only problem with this website, people such as
yourself get to spew hatred for their fellow man yet remain unknown."
I may be simple but I see you as doing that of which you accuse others.
The first poster complained to the SoundOff community about a bunch of
trash bags in the neighbor's yard. You or someone with whom you are
siding jumped all over them. If people are not to be concerned with what
is in their neighborhood other than their own properties I wonder why we
have zoning laws. Also, in your focus on property values in Ellwood City
you seem to be forgetting a more important issue with trash laying
around: HEALTH.
Jumped all over? lol oh that is cute. I, or the someone I am siding
with, simply stated she address the neighbor with her problem, afterall
it is with them that she has the problem. By doing so, she could
potentially get the problem solved and still remain "friendly" with
them. Of course this is Ellwood and nothing can be that easy. You all
believe you are better than your neighbors and you cannot resist any
opportunity to gossip or harden their lives.

I live next to a rental complex where there is a heavy turnover of
tenants. I'm not sure who is coming and going and who the trash belongs
to. I don't know who the landlord is, but I am tired of the trash! Any
positive feedback would be helpful. I understand that many people view
ellwood as their own public trashcan, and do not care, but I prefer not
to live in filth!
That would be the responsibility of the complex owner.

This past summer I spent 7 weeks living and working in a democratic
dictatorship in a country which was once a former member of the Soviet
Union. Only the police and milatary are permitted to own and carry guns.
The citizens were subject to unwarranted stops and searches on the
streets and in their homes and they live in constant fear of not only
the police but organized gangs which practice home invasion as well. (It
looks like they have been taking lessons from the organzied gangs here
in the USA.)
Any law which eliminats "probable cause" and gives the police unlimited
powers is a law waiting to be abused by the wrong people. We have a
checks and balance system. Don't play with it. What we need is more
sophisticated methods of scanning individuals at the doors. However,
keep in mind that if a person is bent on breaking the law, they will
find a way to do it! Just remember this statement: "Locks only keep the
honest people out of our homes."

be walking to school. So lets all that are heading to work and others who
take there kids to school watch out for these walkers. Pay attention to
men or woman sitting on steps of building or just standing on the
sidewalks. Lets not let another incident happen like last year where the
2 young boys were followed by a registered sex offender. (which he

When referring to the lack of experience in coaching, it seems that you
are lumping all these coaches together when, in fact, your wrong. I can
say with a great amount of confidence that the REC wrestling coaches
including the assistant coaches are well experienced in wrestling and
football. They ran an excellent program this year and we look forward to
wrestling in the years to come.
It takes more then a good coach to have a winning program. Most of our
youth today are lazy, this is showing in our stats.
Instead of bashing these youth programs, how about supporting them and
our youth. Instill some kind of work ethic and the sense of
accomplishment rather taking the backseat, allowing everyone else to do
the work and you sit here on sound off and complain. No one likes a back
seat driver! (Take a hint)
I'm sure all the programs are looking for well rounded, insightful
individuals as yourselves to volunteer your experince and knowledge to
the programs. Attend a board meeting and get involved!!!!
THEN WHY DID THEY RUN THE MOST EXPERIANCED COACH OUT

It should be made mandatory for every household to have proof of garbage
pickup. Look at all the garbage laying along the roads and bags of
garbage thrown from vehicles.
It is an eyesore to look at and pretty soon there will be rodents too.
I would never go tell my neighbors to pick up there yard, if they don't
care about the appearance, do you think they care if I don't like it?
I believe the blue and green bags are the decoder for who is paying for
garbage pick up. I agree with your post. They may not care about your
feelings. But then again, maybe they are having a very hard time right
now, or maybe they feel over-whelmed by their surroundings and it has
caused them to shut down. My point was and is, there could be a very
valid reason (maybe not in your opinion) as to why they aren't keeping
up with their property. A simple conversation could help you both!
Writing on here or calling the police will only create harsh feelings.

When it comes to the comments on bad coaching I have to say one thing
about that. 90 Percent of the coaches don't care. They truly don't and
you can't tell anyone that they do. If they did then maybe the comments
wouldn't surface that the coaches are bad. If they actually cared and
thought about the kids and there well being mybe we could see less kids
doing drugs or being just punk kids and more kids happy with the sports
they do. But now most of the kids don't care and will continue not to
care as long as they have coaches they won't and don't show them
dedication. Not only that but a form of knowledge regarding the sport
they coach.

have? I have been looking for one and just cant seem to find one. I

free. Thank You. Cheapo the Clown
I would certainly
haul it over to you, but I gave away the trailer last week to a needy
fellow, therefore, I have no means to haul it. Otherwise it is yours, go
ahead and take it!!

getting married soon. What is appropriate to put on a gift registry? We
have all the essentials. I know we could use a new/good set of pots and

Thank you
I was in this situation myself. The invitations went out with no gifts

money but I really wasn't looking for that. I just wanted everyone to
have a good time and help us celebrate.

Happy Easter everyone! This year is the earliest Easter any of us will
ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our
population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above). And
none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier! Here’s the
facts:
1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year
2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so
if you’re 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for
that!).
2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year
2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818.
So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this
year!
Pretty cool stuff...we're alive for this once-in-a-lifetime happening!
RE with all this numbers being used i sure hope someone is playing these
numbers WE could buy the town and redo it .~~~

The supreme court is going to do a tightrope act on the 2nd amendment.
They are going to state that the right to bear arms is only superceded
by the interest of the safety of the citizens. In other words there is
not going to be an absolute right to bear arms. The first amendment
guarantees the right to free speech too, but you'd better not yell
"FIRE" in a crowded theater when there is none. Or maybe the supreme
court will allow everyone to carry the gun that was available when the
second amendment was adopted, that would be a single-shot musket for
everyone. Totalitarianism is such an encompassing term, does that mean
that if you don't get what you think are your rights without
restrictions, the people making the rules are totalitarians?? What don't
you like about democracy? It's slow and cumbersome, but eventually the
will of the majority will prevail. A slow and steady evolution of reason
over mayhem. The DC regulations only restricted the possession of
handguns. Rifles and/or shotguns were allowed to be kept in the house
for protection. Do you really think the supreme court is going to allow
handgun sales in DC and subject themselves to mayhem. I just can't see
that happening. They will put their own well-being before your absolute
right to bear arms.

Ellwood can't win in sports because we have horrendous coaches. Don't
tell mew thtwe do not have boys as tough as the ones in Beaver,
Riverside and Center. Cortes is right. Wehave an AD who is also a
football coach. Well, how is the AD going to evaluate the coaches when
he is one of them
MAYBE that why cortez has the principal involed
well hows cortez or the principal going to evaluate the coaches when
neither of them has ever coached and i seriously doubt have any
knowledge of what it takes to coach anywhere especially in ellwood.
thats what a athletic director is for. hire a experienced one and then
get the h_ _ l out of the way and dont stick your nose in anymore and
maybe ellwood will get things turned around. the trouble in ellwood is
we got board members and principals trying to act like coaches.

What the heck is going on with the community sound off?
It seems that there a lot of mistakes in the listing times and the dates
ETC.
Just wondering if someone new is helping.

is todays and the community list time says today at 7:54.

allow the supreme court to drop all restrictions and allow anyone with
the money to purchase a gun to carry it all over that city. Can you
imagine those individuals having to cope with armed citizens everywhere
they go and to face the same dangers as ordinary people."
So your hope is that the Supreme Court is made up of hypocritical
elitists who want to protect their special privileges and trample on the
Bill of Rights?
"This will open the door to more court cases to test the limits and
eventually the second amendment will be interpreted in favor of more and
more restrictions. A slow but steady evolution of reason over mayhem."
Actually, more mayhem results from more restrictions on the Second
Amendment and the District of Columbia is one of the most violent
sections of our nation. You seem to forget that the Bill of Rights is a
product of the Age of Reason, not the DC gun ban. In other words it has
been devolution--from enlightened reason to totalitarian mayhem.

As a practicing Catholic, I take no offense at the word 'cult' being
used. The word itself has been associated with so many BAD things over
the past few decades that the true meaning has been brushed aside. While
I may not go along with #3, it is a lesser meaning, in the order of
things. 5 'b' is more what people think of when the word 'cult' comes
up.
The meaning of cult is this:
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/cult
cult- noun
Date: 1617
1: formal religious veneration : worship
2: a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of
adherents
3: a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of
adherents
4: a system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its
promulgator <health cults>
5 a: great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a
film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or
intellectual fad
b: the object of such devotion c: a usually small group of people
characterized by such devotion

In a recent EC Ledger articles about revitalizing EC, this paragraph
caught my attention and I think many of you should think about what is
being said here by one of our quality youth. It reads as follows...
"Sam Costa, one of the students who created the video, said fixing the
school's problems or building a new one is necessary for Ellwood City's
future.
Costa, a Lincoln sophomore, said addressing the revitalization committee
was necessary - even though the improvements she talked about Tuesday
won't happen in time to affect her.
"It would still benefit the community because more people would come
here and maybe we would come back and bring our own kids."
Her last comment is a good one and people should think about it. Once,
when I was young, I knew I'd stay or be back to Ellwood because I knew
it was a good quality community and town with GREAT people. I wanted to
raise my family here and I wanted my kids to go to school here etc. Here
is a fine example of a fine young Ellwoodian who is trying to reach out
to the people of Ellwood with a very important message. The message I
got from this was that changes need to be made in this town in order for
our "quality" youth to come back and have the same attitude that I once
had. Otherwise they will run away, never to come back and our little
town will begin to fall apart and become overrun by trash. Yes, there is
a cost in all this, but it is a cost that will invest in the future of
this community. Ensuring and upholding it’s reputation of being a good,
wholesome and quality place to live, work, and die. Important choices
will need to be made here in Ellwood City in the very near future. These
choices and actions towards these choices will potentially make or break
this town. I feel, at this point, we are not headed in the right
direction and neither do some others in this town…....hence the
“Revitalization Projects” taking place recently. I hope more people jump
on the band wagon to revitalize this town, because it sure needs it! The
Best…..

Well, what do you think is in those bags? Gold coins? Fruit Loops? Also,
you do not think piles of garbage in a neighboring property affects your
property? Most of us want to live in clean, pleasant surroundings. If
you wouldn't want to see bags of garbage (or whatever) in a public park,
you wouldn't want to see it out your window. Your smartypants reply does
not impress me.
Smartypants... LOL Who uses smartypants anymore? I will keep my reply
simple as you don't seem to be a complex individual. You live in Ellwood
City, depending on your neighborhood, your home is worth what it's
worth. The Northside and downtown areas get about 75-150k for their
homes. Ewing Park gets around 145-195. That's it, deserving or not. That
is what you call location location location. A few bags of garbage
cannot change that. If your home is clean and your yard is clean, May I
suggest you enjoy the peace in that. You don't know what is happening in
their home until you knock and ask. If you aren't prepared to do that,
then live and let live. That is my only problem with this website,
people such as yourself get to spew hatred for their fellow man yet
remain unknown.

Ellwood can't win in sports because we have horrendous coaches. Don't
tell mew thtwe do not have boys as tough as the ones in Beaver,
Riverside and Center. Cortes is right. Wehave an AD who is also a
football coach. Well, how is the AD going to evaluate the coaches when
he is one of them
MAYBE that why cortez has the principal involed

Anyhow, I think this mystery guy that's shoveling snow is Mr. TD. I
stopped to help a man that was removing a deer carcass from the road
last Thursday (he wasn't even the one that hit it, just being a good
citizen). He had a tatoo of the initials "TD" on his left wrist. I asked
him if he was "THE" Mr. TD from the Ellwoodcity.org website -- he just
winked at me. I looked the other way for a split second, and when I
turned back around he was gone. No sign of him anywhere. I must admit,
it gave me chills.
This post is truely one of the Top Ten dumbest comments ever posted! I
think this lady desperately needs a date!

I have been told from time to time about this web site. So, today I am
off work sick. So, I though I would check it out. However all I read
about is schools, coaching, garbage, and etc...
I am a very busy person and I don't have a lot of extra time. After
reading this, I feel alot of people on here have nothing better to do,
than criticize others.
Maybe, if you had a life. You won't care about what other people think
or do. Just like the lady with the garbage problems from her neighbor.
If it was my neighbor leaving a mess. I would simply put up a fence so
that I wouldn't have to see it. However, most people can't afford that.
I feel bad for all of you out there that have nothing better to do. Take
Care. I hope you find what you are looking for. lol.

Can anyone help me? There are a couple vehicles parked on my street that
have flat tires and have not moved since, forever. I filled out a "tip
sheet" about 2 months ago, and I have yet to see anything done about it.
Next time you happen to walk by the vehicles, check the registration
sticker. If it is expired and has not moved for some long period of
time, and the police have better things to do. I believe, you can call a
towing company. It's called abandoned property. Abandoned property is no
ones property, just like trash bags at the curb.

What is a "pubic" page? Anyhow, I think this mystery guy that's
shoveling snow is Mr. TD. I stopped to help a man that was removing a
deer carcass from the road last Thursday (he wasn't even the one that

RE: This post just doesn't ring true to me. You pull over to help a guy
remove a dead dear from the road so I'm going to assume you are a man.
(Sorry ladies just never saw a woman drag a dead deer from the roadway)
So you're helping this guy, you can't help yourself, you are drawn to
checking out the wrist of this guy. You study it enough to make out
initials. THEN you actually ask the guy if he is some imaginary
charactor on the local website? Dude if that were me, I would have
called the psych ward and let them know you escaped but I guess
disappearing was quicker! Smart move guy who removes dead deer from the
roads of Ellwood City with the initials TD on your left wrist. However,
I am inclined to think you saw ole Saint Nick, he has the same M.O.
winking then disappearing that is.. Maybe it was one of his reigndeer he
was dragging from the road when you happened upon him?. Just one more
mystery for us mere mortals to ponder...

So they aren't married either? This is why I don't believe in minding
anothers business! I honestly believe when you hit 20 you are an adult.
You are perfectly capable of making your own decisions and supporting
yourself. If you live differently, then someone else isn't pulling their
weight either!

Dear Upcoming Wedding,
Don't register anywhere. When your guests inquire why you haven't,
simply explain that you are already "set up" for home making.
In this instance a gift card is not only practical but in this day and
age totally acceptable to give as a weding or shower gift. But
really....even BETER than a gift card is the gift of cash. It doesn't
need to be wrapped, is never returned and is really the most practical
gift ever. (Let's hope you get lots of it!) Best Wishes!

Thank you Kim F. for your positive assessment of what is happening at
Lincoln High. Lots of good things going on there, and plenty of plans to
keep up with technology and the restoration of the areas that need
renovated. Wishing you success with your career and your upbeat
attitude, our children could use some positive reinforcement to confront
all the negative remarks on these pages. We are blessed to have so many
experts and pundits in our midst who have answers to everything. It's
too bad they have nothing else to contribute but criticism of everyone
who attempts to make things better. Thanks again Kim.

To all the religious buffs. If B.C. means before Christ and A.D. means
after death and Christ died on holy Thursday than should'nt the new year
begin on good Friday?
AD means 'Anno Domini' or year of our Lord, hence the push to use the
term CE or comman era by those wishing to deny Christ. Christians
celebrate the resurrection of Christ, we celebrate the first day of the
week! The julian calendar that we go by tells us when it is a new year.

I have been living on my own for several years and my fiance and I have
been living together for 2 years. We bought a house in July and are
getting married soon. What is appropriate to put on a gift registry? We
have all the essentials. I know we could use a new/good set of pots and
pans. But, am clueless for anything else. Please Help
Thank you
Skip the registry. Let people buy you whatever they want. Like you said,
you have all the essentials. You did this backwards.

03/25/08 (29)
why not post everyones thought provoking comments....people do like to
read between the lines and since ellwood is such a culturally diverse
community we could all use some thought provoking comments that need
translation...I guess you are smarter than the average ellwoodian that
reads ec.org
....thought provoking is one thing...having to
decode is another.

If you are willing to put out the effort of asking for help on this
site, and if you are willing to approach your neighbor about this issue,
it might be easier to just go clean up their garbage.
Are you serious? Why should a neighbor have to buy blue bags or get a
dumpster for a neighbor who is too lazy to dispose of garbage properly?
We all have lots to do on our own property without having to do more for
someone who frankly does not seem to appreciate their own home.
No one asked her to spend a dime on anything! It was simply suggested
that she offer her assistance. Maybe that would be the motivation the
neighbor needs? Not everyone is all about money.
---------
It should be made mandatory for every household to have proof of garbage

I read a article the other day about kids that have to go to scholl
where there are lots of shootings and how scared they are just to go to
school. Those poor students have to live like that I guess because we
cant get no gun laws that would allow our cops to stop people to see if
they was carring guns. I bet when all the kids in all the schools have
to live like that then maybe we will do somethin to stop all the killinh.
Maybe we should just give all the students guns then they could pertect
rhemselves. I bet the big shots in DC wont have to worry about guns
because the supreme court will take care of then. They wont worry about
the scared kids thougj. You can always count on our politicins to do the
rite thing. Dont it seem like the vilence is gettin closer to home all
the time, I gess we cant expect it to happen to someone else all the
time.
03/25/08 (34)
I have been reading several comments lately about religion and God in
schools. My husband and I were raised catholic and being young parents
do not believe that forcing your child to attend church is appropriate.
I also dont feel that religion has any place in education. When our
children are "adults" then they can form their own opinions on God and
religion, why force them to believe in something that they will
ultimately reject as an adult.
As for the school district, allot of comments are negative concering our
teachers, are you willing to educate our youth? Are you willing to
volunteer hours per week to tutoring, sports, and other school
activities? If the answer is "no", then please keep your comments to
yourself. Negativity, self fulfillment, and arrogance is what is
bringing Ellwood down, not the lack of guidance and religion.
03/25/08 (35)
03/25/08 (36)
Since the topic seems to be garbage lately, lets take a good look around
Ellwood and not just in peoples back yards. Our streets are litered with
garbage, the medium's and also highways are filthy, there is so much
garbage in the Ellwood area, how do you have time to notice jus tone
persons garbage?
I know that there used to be programs through PennDOT that clubs and
individuals would be assigned to clean up certain sections of highways
and etc.
I have a better idea, I've been reading the police blotter and see how
many people just in Ellwood that are on probation and just issued fines.
Instead of allowing these people to walk away and just cut a check, how
about organizing a program that makes these petty criminals clean up
Ellwood and the surrounding area's. This is turn would lower our tax
dollars or at least allow our tax dollars to go towards things that are
desperatly needed such as pot holes fixed rather then paying PennDOT
crews to clean up.

Thank you,
Kimberly Frampton
kim frampton was another victim of reporting by the the
ledger. it seems they only want to print negative things about our community.Ihave attented council meetings and school board meetings. Then
when i read the paper it fails to report on things that were dicussed.
In my opinion, It ovious that unless they can make a public official look bad
they have nothing to say. Our electeced officials dont need any help looking
bad. They take care of that themslves. However there are things we never
hear about , because it doesn't get reported.
03/25/08 (38)
My husband and I also had everything when we got married and found it
very difficult to add thing sto our registry. I finally decided on what
I wanted rather then what I needed. We did a holiday registry, each
family picked from the registry decorations for all the holidays and
also little things like holiday plates and towels.
These things can be expense to purchase all at once and most times we
have better things to spend our money on.
We recieved decorations for every holiday and dishes, both of which have
been used thorugh out the years.
Good luck and congratulations!!

Our neighbors trash blows into our yard and it seems that we have no
choice but to clean it up, because if we gathered it up and dumped it
back on their Property we could be arrested for littering--- any
suggestions other than putting up a fence.

underage drinking and drugs upstairs of a certain Northside house.

To all the religious buffs. If B.C. means before Christ and A.D. means

Ellwood. If you haven't driven down Center Ave. at night you might want
