ELLWOOD CITY – Plans for the youth roller hockey league at Stiefel Park are shaping up.

Caleb Cragle, director of the adult league, said they have interest from about 15 youngsters and have tentatively set up three divisions separated by age, but still need participants.

Cragle said there will be three age divisions – ages 5 to 8; 9 to 11 and 12 to 15.

So far they have about five youngsters for each division, but need at least eight plus a goaltender for each team.

Cragle said they hope to start the youth league in early September, but it could be pushed back if they don’t find enough participants.

The adult Stiefel Roller Hockey League is organizing the youth league.

Adult hockey league members are continuing their efforts to improve the roller hockey rink at the park.

On July 26 and July 27 members will be replacing all of the wood around the rink.

Anyone interested in the youth hockey league can contact Cragle by e-mail at stiefelhockey@gmail.com
