ELLWOOD CITY – Before you check out the crafts at the festival, merchants are hoping shoppers will check out the Super Summer Sizzlin’ Sidewalk sales downtown.
Businesses will be set up along Lawrence Avenue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday for the Businesses of Vision and Action’s seventh annual sale.
BOVA’s Patti Kuhn said businesses from throughout the community will be set up on Lawrence Avenue including restaurants, chiropractors, insurance agencies, retailers and others. She said there are many businesses not located on Lawrence Avenue that are planning to set up shop for the day on the main street.
“It’s just a celebration. Lawrence Avenue is the gateway to the city and to the park for the festival,” she said.
She said they’ve encouraged businesses to adopt the patriotic theme with their booths to be prepared when the Moving Wall makes its way through the borough on Thursday morning.
Participating BOVA members will be raffling off gift baskets at each of their locations.
There will also be information about the Ellwood City Revitalization’s efforts to raise money for the Ellwood Community Plaza and farmer’s market.
Kuhn said some other BOVA members will not be set up on Lawrence Avenue, but will still have sidewalk sales including Blocher Jewelers in the Franklin Plaza, she said.
Other businesses not located on Lawrence Avenue but setting shop up there for the sidewalk days include One-Way Street Pizza and Beth Hazen Insurance
“It’s going to be nice,” Kuhn said.
