Ellwood City teams host Prom Fashion Show Thursday, February 18, 2010 Jon-Paul Wimer, senior journalist 8:15 AM -Girls and boys from Lincoln High School are about to take part in a showcase of some of the hottest prom attire this year. Members from the Ellwood City girls basketball and softball teams, as well as boys from the basketball team, are taking part in the 2010 Prom Fashion Show at Shakespeare’s Restaurant and Pub this Sunday, Feb. 21 from 1-3 p.m.  Besides the obvious fashion show portion, the event will include a lunch buffet, door prizes, and a Chinese auction. The girls from the two Ellwood City teams will be modeling approximately 15 elegant yet stylish prom dresses of 2010, while seven boys from the basketball team will be showcasing the most handsome tuxedos.  Everyone in attendance will have the option to order a particular dress or tuxedo they find attractive.  The prom attire will be from stores around the area, including Once Upon a Bride, David’s Bridal, The Winner, A Grand Day, and Helen’s Tuxedo Shop. Tickets for the Prom Fashion Show are $15, and the show benefits the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County.  “Two years ago, the Prom Fashion Show was really successful, and I hope that the show this year will be just as successful, if not more so,” said Allison Marshall, one of the prom dress models.  The last fashion show two years ago was to benefit the Magee Breast Cancer program, and the show was able to gain almost $2,000.  To purchase tickets, call 724-758-0971 or email www.imageconsultantsevents.net.  Purchasing tickets at the event is fine, but ordering them ahead of time is encouraged. NOTE: Lincoln High School Prom is May 7 and Riverside High School Prom is May 14.
