One hurt in school bus accident in Wampum

11:41 AM - The driver of a minivan was injured in an accident involving a school bus in Lawrence County early this morning.

According to athorities, the accident happened at the intersection of Route 18 and Clyde Street in Wampum.

Supposedly, 10 kids from Mohawk Area School District were on the bus at the time of the accident, around 8 a.m., but none were injured.

The driver of the minivan that struck the school bus was transported by helicopter to the nearest hospital for treatment of injuries. The name and condition of the driver has not been released at this time.

Police said the van may have turned in front of the bus along Route 18, causing the crash.
