GOALS
The Ellwood City Area School District is committed to providing students
with a high
quality education and to prepare them as responsible citizens in a
continually
changing world. In the search for excellence, every effort will be made to
create
conditions in which all students can learn.
High expectations have been established for students and staff to foster
an
enthusiasm for learning and the mastery of essential skills necessary to
function
effectively in the twenty-first century.
GENERAL FACTS
Ellwood City Area School District is a small industrial and rural
community of approximately 14,040 people located 40 miles northwest of
Pittsburgh, PA. The school district includes the boroughs of
Ellwood City (7,956 residents), Ellport (148 residents), Wampum (678
residents) and the townships of and Perry
(1,930 residents) and Wayne (2,328 residents).
Lincoln High School, accredited by Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV, is a
six-year
junior/senior high school with 1050 students and 67.5 faculty members for
the 2004-2005 school year.
48% of teachers hold a master's degree or above.

The education curriculum at Lincoln High School aims to provide a good,
well
rounded education to all students. Since a large majority of students
continue their
education beyond high school, a strong emphasis is placed on college
preparation. Student to teacher ratio is 15 to 1.
