Woman Facing Charges of Child Endangerment After Injuring Infant

A resident of Freed’s Trailer Park in New Galilee, 24 year-old Courtney Marie Jeffries, will be facing charges of simple assault and endangering the welfare of children, proceeding an incident that occurred last month involving her three month old daughter. According to the criminal complaint, the daughter of Jeffries was taken to the Ellwood City Hospital with an injury to the child’s right arm. The infant was transferred to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh UPMC and a medical personnel at the facility examined the child and diagnosed her with a fracture on her upper arm. Man Charged With Disarming Officer

According to the police report filed March 5, Perry Russel Malcom, 34, of Beaver Falls, will be facing a felony charge of disarming law enforcement, a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, and an infraction charge of disorderly conduct after an incident involving a parking ticket escalated. At approximately 5:51 p.m. an officer was requested to respond to the rear of the Ellwood City Police Department to speak with Malcom regarding a parking ticket he received earlier in the day. February Mayor’s Advisory Meeting

On February 23, the Mayor’s Advisory Committee met in council Chambers; parking problems were discussed, especially vehicles parking on corners posing difficulties to drivers. Also discussed were the All Terrain Vehicles on city streets. Mayor Court reported that Jozek is in poor health and commented that, “there will never be another K9 quite like Jozek”. The fight against drugs continues and there have been 375 arrests since Mayor Court took office. Criminal Complaint: Wampum Storage Unit Theft

According to the criminal complaint on Jan. 22 a Pennsylvania State Trooper was dispatched to the Mini Storage Units located at 941 Clyde Street in Wampum Borough, in reference to four units being broken into. Upon arrival the officer determined the locks were cut on all four units; surveillance photos of the suspect and the car he was driving was provided, allowing further investigation to reveal the suspect as Corey D. Ellwood City Man Facing Child Pornography Charges

A local Ellwood City man pleaded guilty yesterday to distributing sadistic child pornography on a peer-to-peer network from a computer at his house, where he lived with his parents. Lucas Klobetanz, 40, was state-investigated and charged in 2015 after he admittedly stalked Amish children in Lawrence and Mercer County in an attempt to lure them into outhouses near Amish school grounds. He pleaded guilty to stalking and prosecutors dropped a related charge of luring. He was sentenced to three months to two years in that case. Ellwood City Graduate Found Dead

An investigation is ongoing after Bradley Grinnen, a graduate of Lincoln Junior-Senior High School was found deceased Sunday morning around 11:22a.m. in a dorm room on the campus of Waynesburg University, the college he was attending. After graduating high school playing both football and wrestling, the 21 year old furthered his football career performing as a junior defensive lineman for the university. The Rev. Lost Pig Recovered in Franklin Township

Lost dogs are a common occurrence – but a lost pig is something we don’t hear of often. Franklin Township Police Department uploaded a photo to their Facebook page yesterday containing a pig in a cage, and a caption reading, “solid black pig, approx 60 lbs, friendly & hungry. Found near 400 block of Route 288 near car wash…” The post had over 85 shares by concerned community members, trying to find the pig its home. The pet pig has since been claimed by its owner and is happily back at home.

Deadly Crash in North Sewickley

A crash that happened slightly before 7a.m. this morning on Route 65 going toward New Brighton has claimed the life of a teenager and injured another. According to another news source, 19-year-old old Isaiah Hunter of New Brighton appeared to drift into the opposing lane of traffic, causing a head on collision with an SUV. Hunter’s car set on fire while other drivers attempted to free him, but he did not survive.
