CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES: Aaron Perri, 31, of Ellwood City, is charged with one count of delivery of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of operating a vehicle without an official certificate of inspection after a traffic stop on October 31st. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:41 a.m., Ellwood City police pulled over a vehicle with an expired state inspection sticker and found the passenger, Ryan Carr, had a warrant for his arrest. DUI/CRASH/EVADING POLICE: Isiah Carr, 28, of Ellwood City, is facing 17 charges after a vehicle crash into trailer, home during police chase on October 14th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:05 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Guy Way, Wayne Township for a welfare check. One scene police observed Carr slumped over the steering wheel of a silver Nissan Altima, parked in a driveway. Man Arrested In Perry Township Homicide Investigation

Yohance Mercer-Huffman, 28, was taken into custody on Saturday, October 21st at approximately 4:00 p.m. in connection with the September homicide on River Road, Perry Township that left a Corry, PA woman dead. According to a police report, and on October 20th, PA State Police filed criminal charges in Magisterial District Court 53-3-01 against Mercer-Huffman, in connection with the shooting of Julie Anne Wegmiller and her husband Edwin Wegmiller. SIMPLE ASSAULT: James Hammond, 28, of Wampum, is charged with Simple Assault and Terroristic Threats after an incident on October 14th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 10:20 p.m., PA State Police responded to an inactive domestic altercation at a residence on Guy Way, Wayne Township to be informed a female had been physically attacked by her boyfriend and that he vacated in a grey car. The North Sewickley Township Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a man they say was loitering and prowling at night. According to police on their Facebook.com Page, the man was seen in the early morning hours Friday, October 6th in the area of Brighton Road. CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION LAW VIOLATION: A former resident of Ellwood City has been sentenced in federal court to a total term of 180 months’ imprisonment followed by 8 years’ supervised release on his conviction of attempted production and production of material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor, United States Attorney Eric G. Olshan announced this week. David Bates, age 64, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge J. ECPD Completes Training and Earns Certification

On Tuesday, September 26th Mayor Anthony J. Court and Ellwood City Police Department conducted a training session at the Ellwood City Rod and Gun Club Range. The training consisted of firearms certification, taser certification, practical exercises and officers certified with the department’s new PepperBall Gun, which is another less lethal tool to be used by the Ellwood City Police Department. Officer Matthew Morabito is the department’s PepperBall Gun instructor. POLICE: Woman Found Shot Dead In Truck In Perry Township

A homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found shot dead inside a Toyota pickup truck overnight Friday. According to the police report, and at approximately 3:17 a.m. on Saturday, PA State Police located a vehicle over a hillside along River Road in Perry Township near Butler Avenue. Emergency responders found a 39-year-old female from Corry, PA deceased inside the truck, partially over a hillside, with an apparent gunshot wound.
