Mayor: “Saturation” Program to Target Unruly Motorists

Mayor Anthony Court announced during Monday’s Borough Council meeting that a “Saturation” program for motor vehicles will be launching in the borough. Not only will the Ellwood City Police Department be ticketing motorists for speeding, but there will also be stops and possible consequences for other violations including such actions as not using turn signals, driving with expired inspections, reckless and erratic driving and other violations of the Pennsylvania motor vehicle codes. Grand Paws Pet Salon & Boutique will be offering the same fur-endly services, but in a new location. Operations are moving to 609 Lawrence Ave. The doors will open to the new location on Tuesday, April 4 (the salon will be closed today and Saturday April 1, while the crew makes the move). Madylin McCommons, a graduating senior at Lincoln Jr/Sr High School, has been named one of more than 5,000 candidates in the 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.6 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2023. Ellwood City’s prized fighter Rosalindo Morales has come a long way from stepping in the ring for the first time when he was 13 years old.
