Big Knob Grange Fair Starts Today

The seventy-fifth annual Big Knob Grange Fair starts today, August 29 and goes though September 2 at their Rochester location, 336 Grange Road, 15074. The event features agriculture, horticulture, home arts, entertainment, food and more. Admission and parking are free, rides are $15.00 for unlimited riding all night.

Good Samaritan Hospice Butterfly Release

Good Samaritan Hospice is hosting a butterfly release at 2p.m. on Sunday the 27, at the Four Seasons Pavilion at Brady’s Run Park in Beaver Falls. Anyone is welcome to release a butterfly to honor and celebrate the memory of a loved one. Participants are asked to reserve a live butterfly in advance for $10 each. Calvin Presbyterian Church Hosting GriefShare Program

No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process, and that’s why Calvin Presbyterian Church hosts GriefShare seminars, a support group to help those grieving. The program will be facilitated by Ginny Brest and the first session is scheduled for Sunday, September 10 from 1:300-3:30 p.m. in the church parlor. The group will meet each Sunday afternoon for 13 weeks, concluding on December 3 . While participants are encouraged to complete the 13-week program if possible, attendance is not mandatory each week. Partial Solar Eclipse Will Be Visible in Ellwood City

The highly anticipated solar eclipse across the nation from the west coast to the east coast of America is happening today, which will be visible at different times throughout regions of the nation. While Ellwood City is not in the “direct path” of the eclipse, according to, Ellwoodians will be able to see a partial eclipse starting at 1:09p.m., the peak of the eclipse will be at 2:34p.m. and the end at 3:54p.m. for a total duration of 2 hours and 44 minutes.
