The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities.  Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include MONDAY, JUNE 17 10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. Penn State Extension To Offer Anger Management Classes

Penn State Extension in Lawrence County presents Anger Management Classes. Classes will be June 20 and June 27 from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm located at the New Castle Public Library. Participants will learn: What triggers your anger, recognizing when you get angry, Constructive ways to manage your anger. The training will also address the five types of anger; anger at self, others’ anger at us, our anger at others, anger at those who are absent, and abstract anger. Anger can be managed. Fireworks Fundraiser More Than Doubles Goal: $11,230 Raised

The fireworks fundraiser earned double plus its $5,000 goal tallying out at a final number of $11,230. Festival Announces Little Miss Firecracker Participants

On Friday, June 28, Ellwood City’s Folino Stage will again ‘light up’ as 17 young ladies vie for this year’s title of Little Miss Firecracker. The 5th annual pageant is the kick-off for the 39th Ellwood City Arts, Crafts, Food, and Entertainment Festival and will begin at 11:15 am. The three-day festival will take place in Ewing Park, Ellwood City. Pageant participants range from ages 5-7 and live within a 15 mile radius of Ellwood City. BINGO! Winner Announced for Relay For Life Bug Bingo

We have a winner! Eric Ryan Corporation and EllwoodCity.org are pleased to announce that Julia Rider is the winner of Bug Bingo. Bug Bingo was a combined effort of both businesses to raise money for the Ellwood City Relay for Life. Rider won $200 for her coverall card. She is pictured here with Eric Venezie, representing EllwoodCity.org. Cards were sold during the May 18 Relay for Life event. Bernstine, Public and Nonpublic School Leaders to Unveil Plan for Separate State Championship Brackets for PIAA Playoffs

WHAT: Following months of negotiations with stakeholders, leaders representing public and nonpublic schools in Pennsylvania will join together with Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) to unveil the Parity in Interscholastic Athletics Act, legislation to create separate brackets for high school sports playoffs. Lawrence County Lions Club Plans Casino Trip

The Lawrence County Area Lions Club are planning a bus trip to the Meadows Casino on July 2, 2019. The bus will leave from Ewing Park across from the swimming pool at 8:30am. Reservations must be in by June 20th by calling Vicki at 724-758-0858. Messages will be returned. The $30.00 cost of the trip includes $25.00 in free play. Checks should be made payable to LCA Lions.
