Ellwood City Medical Center to Offer Free Diabetes Educational Program

The Ellwood City Medical Center is hosting a free diabetes educational program. Information on Diet and Drugs for Diabetics will be held on Thursday, November 21 at 6 p.m. at the Ellwood City Medical Center’s basement dining room, 724 Pershing Street, Ellwood City, PA 16117. Interested participants can RSVP to 724-544-9845. “Whether you are a newly diagnosed diabetic or have been managing your diabetes for years please join us for our community education event discussing nutritional choices and drugs used to help manage diabetes,” said Victoria Gatto, marketing manager at the Ellwood City Medical Center.

Upcoming Chamber SBS and ‘Let There Be Lights’ Events Scheduled

The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is beginning to prepare for downtown holiday events! Small Business Saturday in the Ellwood City community will be held Saturday, November 30th while the ‘Let There Be Lights’ weekend of events is scheduled to be held Friday, December 6th and Saturday, December 7th. The chamber’s goal is to work together with community organizations and local businesses to help provide family-friendly events to help kick off the holiday season. Wampum Announces Annual Christmas Parade Date

The 47th Annual Wampum Area Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday afternoon, December 7th beginning at 1:00 p.m. Come out and enjoy a lineup featuring a steel line band, Toy Story characters, Muppets Christmas, Paw Patrol, superheroes, Rudolph, bands, dance groups, scout troops, floats, fire trucks, and horses! Monetary prizes will be awarded in both religion and non-religious categories. Grand Marshall’s from the American Legion in honor of Pearl Harbor Day. Wampum Announces Annual “Light Up The Town” Date

The Wampum Area Business Association announced its annual “Light Up The Town” scheduled for Wednesday, December 4, 2019. Ellwood City Blood Drive Honors Memory of Shooting Victim

ELLWOOD CITY – It’s been six years since Richard Hogue was shot and killed, and his family continues to turn their pain into saving lives by hosting a blood drive in his memory. They host the blood drive every year near the anniversary of his death, and again this year the event will be on the actual date, November 16, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church Administrative Center, 300 Crescent Ave., Ellwood City, PA 16117. Christ Presbyterian Celebrating Its 40th Boar’s Head Festival

Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City is celebrating its 40th year of the “Boar’s Head Festival”. Presented at least as early as 1346 in Oxford, England, the Boar’s Head, and yule log ceremony is probably the oldest continuous festival of the Christmas season. The one-hour presentation celebrates the birth of Christ and features music conducted by Dan Forsberg, and accompanied by the Ellwood City Civic Chorale and organist David DeCaria.
