Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall Memorial Exhibit Needs Volunteers; Meeting Set for Tomorrow

The Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall Memorial will be coming to Ellwood City in August. In order for the exhibit to be a success, the committee is seeking volunteers to help with all aspects of the exhibit. A meeting will be held on February 20 at 6:30 at the Historical Society at 310 5th Street. The actual wall will be featured in Ellwood City August 20-24. 25th Annual Ellwood City Easter Egg Hunt Date Announced

Ellwood Area Egg Hunt Committee will be holding its 25th community Easter Egghunt for all area children ages 10 and under. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, April 4th, starting at 11:00 a.m. in Ewing Park. Every year hundreds of children swarm the park grounds to enjoy a spring day with lots of eggs, candy, and prizes for all participants. This year will be no different as 10,000 Easter Eggs will be handed out this year along with special events and special prizes to honor the 25th year anniversary. A Sanctuaries of Safety Seminar will take place this Sunday and will be hosted by the First United Methodist Church Ellwood City. The seminar is being presented to raise awareness of safety concerns in the local churches and communities. Gordmans to Open Ellwood Location in February with Grand Opening Brand Bash

Apparel and home décor retailer Gordmans will replace Peebles in Franklin Plaza on Route 288 and will open its doors on February 18 at 9 a.m. The grand opening festivities will kick off with a ribbon cutting and follow with a $1,000 donation presented to Riverside Beaver County School District. The opening is one of 23 in Pennsylvania for the retailer. Fireworks Benefit to Feature Live Music, Comedy, Food, Prizes

An explosion of entertainment, food, and fun will kick off this year’s Fireworks Benefit. The event will take place at Koehler Brewery, 130 Wampum Ave, from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday February 8.
