Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of January 16, 2016

Activities taking place for the week at the Ellwood City Area Public Library are as follows: The library is closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, January 17. Tuesday, January 17, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “Montana 1948,” by Larry Watson. Portersville Christian School Open House

Portersville Christian School will hold an information Night/Open House on Monday January 23, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the church for families interested in enrolling students for the 2016-2017 school year. The school is accepting student applications and registrations prior to the release of next year’s tuition schedule at the end of March 2017. In addition to kindergarten, there are openings in most grade levels for fall 2017. Interested families who have students entering kindergarten and grades 7 & 9 are encouraged to apply early, since these grades tend to fill up fast. Freedom Healthcare Services Open House

Freedom Healthcare Services, located at 773  Pershing Street, is hosting an open house at their location on Wednesday, January 25 from 10a.m.-3p.m.. This is an opportunity to find out more about Freedom Healthcare Services and to ask questions about addiction and opioid dependency. Professional staff will be available for questions. Everyone is welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information. Thursday, January 12, at 3:00 p.m. – “Hooked on Books,” a book discussion group for students in 6th through 8th grades. Corona D’Italia Lodge December Meeting

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 officers and members held their annual Christmas Dinner on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at 5p.m. at the Wolverine Restaurant. Treasurer Louise Vitullo and her member daughters, Patti Kuhn and Maura Greco, provided reservation information and greeted all arrivals. Sentinnel Lois DiFrischia directed seating to tables decorated with Christmas trees, electric votive lights at every place setting, candy and a 2017 planner, all provided by orator, Valerie Valentino. Emcee, Mary Quintanilla, welcomed and extended holiday greetings to all in attendance.
