The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Portersville Man Sentenced for Role in Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

PITTSBURGH – A resident of Portersville, PA, has been sentenced in federal court to time served followed by three years’ supervised release on his convictions of conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine, conspiracy to distribute heroin, and conspiracy to distribute cocaine, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced on Thursday. Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab imposed the sentence on Ray Chrzanowski, age 53. Calvin Presbyterian Church To Host GriefShare Program

Calvin Presbyterian Church will once again host a 13-week GriefShare program this winter each Sunday beginning February 14 and concluding May 23. The program will take place each Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 pm. The program will not meet on Easter (April 4) or Mother’s Day (May 9) and is sponsored by Calvin Presbyterian Church, with Ginny Brest as the facilitator. The first session is scheduled for Sunday, February 14 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The support group meets in the lower-level dining room of the church, observing CDC guidelines. Wolverines Cruise To Road Victory Over Mohawk

Ellwood City jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 71-44 section victory on the road Tuesday night over Mohawk. Alexander Roth and Steve Antuono each scored seven first quarter points for the Wolverines who jumped out to a commanding 27-6 lead. The Wolverines showcased a balanced team and individual scoring attack. BC3 Cancels Seasons Of 3 Indoor Intercollegiate Sports

(Butler, PA) The seasons of Butler County Community College’s three indoor intercollegiate athletic programs postponed last fall to this winter have been canceled with continued regard to COVID-19 and in observance of out-of-state travel orders announced by the state Department of Health on Nov. 17. The college announced Monday its cancellation of its men’s and women’s basketball seasons, and of its volleyball season for the 2020-2021 academic year. Lions Club Joins Dollar General In Offering Hygiene Helpers Box

A local Lions Club has joined forces with a local Dollar General store to offer an initiative aimed to help provide hygiene products for those in need. Lions Clubs International District Governor, Chip Campbell, of the Riverside Lions and Christina Radich, General Manager of the Franklin Township Dollar General store, are pictured below standing with the Hygiene Helpers box located at the store.
