Yesterday, House Bill 2030, which modifies the Ellwood City borough electric department, passed in a 106-89 vote. The bill, sponsored by Rep. Aaron Bernstine, R-10, New Beaver, will now pass to the state senate. The bill will prevent the borough from transferring funds from the electric department to the General Fund and includes additional provisions for consumer protection. The bill’s language limits its impact to boroughs providing electric to more than one county. Peter C. Wallace, 66, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully, his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 4 2016 in the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness. He was born in Ellwood City on June 26, 1950, to the late W. Paul Wallace and the late Letitia Clyde Wallace. Pete graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, class of 1969. He was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Ellwood City. Pete was employed for 47 year at Loccisano’s Golden Dawn in Ellwood City, as a receiving clerk.
