Rhonda Evans, 57, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly into God’s hands on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016.
She was born in Ellwood City on January 16 1959 , to the late James J. Evans Sr. and the late Josephine E. Tisdale Evans.
Rhonda graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1977. She was currently employed at the Ellwood City Hospital in the Dietary Department as a dietary aide for the past eleven years. She had also spent many years of employment at Alsy Lighting and the Ellwood City Ledger.
Rhonda was a longtime member of the Ellwood City Women’s Pool League and she also was a member of the Eagles Club. She was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.
She is survived by three sisters and two brothers: Donna J. Evans Smith of Mercer County PA; James J. (and Sandra) Evans Jr. of Patterson Twp., PA; Douglas E. Evans of Ellwood City; Karen M. (and Michael) Evans of New Brighton; and Annette (and Charles) Borders Jr. of North Sewickley Twp.
She also has one surviving aunt, Louise Tisdale of New Brighton.
Rhonda adored all of her cousins, and she is survived by her loving nephew and nieces: Brian (and Dana) Evans of Atlanta GA; nieces Laina Early of McKeesport, Leah Evans-Smith of Bellevue PA; and Mariah Evans of Patterson Twp. Rhonda also had a special relationship with her “babies”, great nephew Jamar L. Mosby Jr. and great niece Jadien M. Mosby, both of McKeesport PA.
Rhonda will be greatly missed by her best friend, Gina Fotia, and her mother, Mrs. Fotia; and by special neighbors and friends, co-workers and her snack bar buddies at the hospital.
Friends will be received from 6-8 P.M. on Tuesday, Sept. 27, in the TURNER FUNERAL HOME, 500 Sixth Street, in Ellwood City.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at 11:00 A.M. at the TURNER FUNERAL HOME of Ellwood City. Services will be officiated by Minister Brian Evans.
Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley.
