Shermanetta I. Kondrasuk, 87

Shermanetta I. Kondrasuk, 87, formerly of R.J. Schill Manor, Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, Sept. 30, 2015 at Golden Hill Nursing Home in New Castle.

She was born in Ellwood City on Dec. 6, 1927 to the late Robert Arnold Young and the late Mary A. Bennett Young. She graduated from Lincoln High School and worked as a clerk at J.C. Penney in Ellwood City. Shermanetta was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Ellwood City, where she was active in the Methodist Women.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Kondrasuk, who died on Dec. 9, 1991, and by two daughters, Diana L. Kondrasuk Frederick on Sept. 1, 1999 and Deborah L. Kondrasuk on Jan. 16, 1993, as well as her son-in-law, Paul K. Frederick, on Dec. 4, 1989, and great grandson, Gavin P. Myers, on June 27, 2008. The last of her family, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert G. Young, and her sister, Gladys Young Mathay.

Shermanetta is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Kondrasuk, and her son, David A. Kondrasuk, both of Ellwood City. Two grandchildren, Shannon (and Rick) Myers and Dr. Ivy Frederick (and Chris Devido), and one great granddaughter, Madison Myers, also survive.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 in the Turner Funeral Home of Ellwood City, Sixth Street at Park Ave. Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at Turners with Rev. Patricia Cleary, her pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery Mausoleum, Wayne Township.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Shermanetta’s name, to the First United Methodist Church, 416 Crescent Ave., Ellwood City, Pa. 16117.
