Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of September 11, 2017

Activities scheduled at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Monday, September 11, at 6:30 p.m. – Classics Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “The Ministry of Fear,” by Graham Greene. Call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Tuesday, September 12, at 6:00 p.m. – A program on fall gardening featuring the topic, “What to Do in the Garden During Sweater Weather,” will be presented by the Master Gardeners in Lawrence County. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. There is a $5 fee to attend, the proceeds going to both the Master Gardeners and the Library. Call the library for more information.

Wednesday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. This program is returning to its Wednesday morning meeting time. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, September 14, at 3:00 p.m. – “Just 4 Girls,” a book discussion group for girls in 9th grade and up. The group meets once each month for book discussion and pizza. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, September 14, at 6:00 p.m. – The Friends of the Library will meet to discuss the upcoming September 30th “Fall Fest” activities at the library as well as other future fundraising activities. New members are always welcome, so call the library for more information.

Saturday, September 16, from 4-7:30 p.m. in Ewing Park — The annual Storytelling Festival featuring professional storytellers as well as wandering entertainment, balloon animals, horse and trolley rides and more. Call the library for more information.

The library will host an informational program on governmental redistricting in the state of Pennsylvania at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26. No registration is required. Call the library for more information.

The library’s annual Book Sale will be held October 2-7 and book donations are now being accepted. Books of all types that are in good, saleable condition are welcomed. Also accepted will be DVDs and CDs, both audio books and music. The library will NOT ACCEPT Readers’ Digest Condensed books, no encyclopedia sets, no textbooks, no magazines or VHS tapes. Donations may be dropped off at the library during normal business hours. Call for more information.

“Movie Night for Adults,” a monthly program which is free and open to all area adults, will be held on September 20. These evenings feature new-to-DVD films and refreshments. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.
