Activities scheduled at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Wednesday, August 16, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. This program is returning to its Wednesday morning meeting time. Everyone is welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.
Wednesday, August 16, at 12:00 Noon – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, August 17, at 12:00 Noon – Members of all three book discussion for kids and teens – “Hooked on Books,” “Just 4 Girls” and “Food 4 Thought” – will meet for an author visit. Wende Dikec, author of “Tiger Lily,” will be on hand to discuss the book in particular and writing in general with book group members. Call the library for more information.
Thursday, August 17, at 6:00 p.m. – Adult Knitting Group, whose members meet weekly to work on individual projects. Members provide their own materials. Call the library for more information.
The library is now accepting donations of books for the Annual Book Sale scheduled for the week of October 2-7. The library will accept books of all types that are in good, saleable condition. Also accepted will be DVDs and CDs, both audio books and music. The library will NOT ACCEPT Readers’ Digest Condensed books, no encyclopedia sets, no textbooks, no magazines or VHS tapes. Donations may be dropped off at the library during normal business hours. Call for more information.
“Movie Night for Adults,” a monthly program featuring new-to-DVD films which is free and open to all area adults, will be held this month on August 23 at 6:00 p.m.
