Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of April 24, 2017

Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Tuesday, April 25, at 12:00 Noon — The Lawrence County Commissioners will hold their public meeting at the library beginning at Noon on Tuesday, April 25. The public is invited to attend. Call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Wednesday, April 26, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a new concept in helping to reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, April 26, at 3:00 p.m. – Creative Writing Workshop for students in 7th grade and up. The group meets twice each month to share their work and discuss writing tips and techniques. Call the library for more information.

Wednesday, April 26, at 6:00 p.m. – “Movie Night for Adults,” featuring a new-to-DVD film and refreshments. Please note that the date of this “movie night event” was incorrect in last week’s Ledger column.  Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.

Thursday, April 27, at 3:00 p.m. – “Food 4 Thought,” a book discussion group for students in 9th grade and up. The group will discuss the book, “Obsidian,” by Jennifer L. Armentrout. Call the library for more information.

Thursday, April 27, at 6:00 p.m. — A discussion of oral history and a special book signing, featuring author Nancy K. Wallace, author of “Among Wolves” and “Grim Tidings,” will be featured. The evening’s activities will feature Nancy reading from her books, questions and answers, a book signing and refreshments. Call the library for more information.

Saturday, April 29, — “An American Girl Doll Picnic,” featuring a picnic-style party for girls and boys and their favorite dolls. Featured will be picnic-style refreshments as well as games and activities. There are three sessions available: at 10:30 a.m., at 1:00 p.m. and at 3:00 p.m. with limited seating available. Registration is required, so call the library for more information. Those attending may take their American Girl Doll or another favorite doll of theirs to the picnic.
