There’s A New Choice in Primary Healthcare in Ellwood City

Primary Health Network’s Ellwood City Health Center at 304 Evans Drive is now open for business and accepting patients.

According to Drew Pierce Primary Health Network’s chief executive officer, PHN is a community health center that aims to serve the underserved population who have limited access to care including Medicaid patients and those in rural areas—although all are welcome. After over 30 years of service, PHN has grown to become the largest Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Pennsylvania.

Dr. Beth Ann Magnifico

The Ellwood City Health Center provides pediatric, internal medicine, and behavioral health services.

Although their office on Evans Drive is in close proximity to the Ellwood City Medical Center, PHN’s Ellwood City Health Center is not part of the hospital.

“We are in no way shape or form affiliated with the Ellwood City Medical Center” Pierce said. “Nor will we be in the future.”

Although PHN isn’t directly affiliated to hospitals, Pierce said the organization works well with all area hospitals in providing complementary services in their facilities to provide continuing care as a benefit to the community.

“We are here and ready to provide the care that the community needs,” Pierce said.

PHN’s Ellwood City Health Center opened its doors in August and has two professional healthcare providers:

Rebecca Martin

Dr. Beth Ann Magnifico provides pediatric and internal medicine services for Primary Health Network. She joined PHN in August 2019. Dr. Magnifico earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Philadelphia, PA. She completed her residency at The Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, PA.

Rebecca Martin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides behavioral health services for Primary Health Network. She joined PHN in October 2016. Rebecca earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Slippery Rock University, Slippery Rock, PA and her Masters of Social Work degree from University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA.
