Ellwood City United Fund Campaign Set To Begin

The Ellwood City United Fund campaign will start on October 1, 2019 and will continue until January 31, 2020.

The campaign committee met this past Monday to review the agencies request for the coming year. The committee decided to again this year to set a goal of $50,000.00 to provide funding for the eight agencies they support( Ellwood family center, People in Need, Ellwood City Public Library, LARK Enterprises, Boy & Girl Scouts, Human Services, and Ellwood Education Foundation ).

Connie MacDonald , president of the United Fund states, “ we hope all of Ellwood City will provide donations and help us meet our goal for the coming year. Over the past couple years we failed to receive enough donations that caused the agencies to change their desired outcomes. I believe it is because the community is not aware of what the service agencies do for our families, our friends, and our neighbors. We hope to have more direct contact with businesses, community service clubs, retail outlets, and industry.”

Board members, Martin (Doc) Barsotti and Andrew Kindle have been appointed campaign chairs for the 2019 – 2020 campaign. Barsotti said, “ we usually have 300 – 500 patrons that have donated each year. I am sure the Ellwood City community will help us meet our goal. They realize that it takes very little effort to make a big difference.” The treasurer, Andrew Kindle provide that the total number of contributions usually received in the first two months of the campaign was approximately $15,000.00. The hope is that we can increase that amount to over $20,000.00. To reach the goal set by the campaign committee the United Fund needs to raise $12,500.00 each month of the campaign. The board members are available to meet and talk with any group; business, civic, religious, industrial, and chamber of commerce members.

The committee is confident that the Ellwood City community will come forth with enough donations to meet the goal. The United Fund board wants to Thank you for caring for the work our service agencies do for the community. You can be assured that your donation stays here in Ellwood City.
