Sandra Lee (Pivarnik) Durbin, 73 of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the Passavant Community in Zelienople.
Born on December 15, 1945 in Darlington, PA, Sandy was the daughter of the late Michael and Alice Sanders Pivarnik. She graduated from New Brighton High School in 1964. Sandy was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and had worked at the former BVM Church. After graduating the Lawrence Co. Vo-Tech CNA Program Sandy worked at Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry Twp., Ellwood City Home Health and the Ellwood City Hospital. She was also a Private Duty CNA for several families in the Ellwood Area. She retired in 2013.
Amazing and loving mother of her 4 children, Beth Durbin Westcott of Pittsburgh, Paul (Lisa) Durbin and Richard (Shannon) Durbin of Ellwood City and Ronald (Karen) Durbin of Arvada, CO. Adored “Grandma Sandy” to her 10 grandchildren, Andrew (Joni) Durbin, Stephanie Durbin, Derick, Millie and Kylah McQuiston all of Ellwood City, Ashley Westcott Cmar of Latrobe, Robert (Megan) Durbin of Beaver Falls, Joseph Robert Westcott of Pittsburgh and Royce and Keats Durbin of Arvada, CO. Beloved “Gigi” to her 5 great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Rylee and Dexter Durbin, Deanna and Maximus Cmar. Her 7th great grandchild is due in April 2019. Sandy is also survived by 2 brothers, J. Thomas Pivarnik of New Brighton, PA and J. Michael (Annamarie) Pivarnik of Hilliard, OH and her best friend and Christian sister of 55 years, Donna (Prince) Maier of North Sewickley Twp.
Besides her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by a great grandson, Gabriel Michael Durbin and her mother and father-in-law, Robert and Lillian Durbin Wisbith.
Private interment will be with her mother at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in New Brighton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avene, Ellport.
