Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 Annual Mother-Daughter Scholarship Dinner

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 held their annual Mother- Daughter Scholarship Dinner on May 2, at the Wolverine Restaurant. Attendees were registered by Treasurer, Louis Vitullo, and her member daughter, Patty Kuhn. Trustee, Pudue La Cava directed seating of all guests and members. Orator, Valerie Valentino presented each arrival with a bouquet of wood fiber roses.

Mistress of Ceremony, Mary Quintanilla, welcomed all and offered congratulations to all mothers, members and honored guests, the 2018 Corona D’Italia Memorial scholarship recipients. She recognized. President, Clemmy Sirimarco, who offered a prayerful and honorable invocation for all mothers, members, honorees and all military personnel.

The sit-down dinners of stuffed pork chop or stuffed chicken breast and Italian cookies, for dessert, were served by the staff. Following the dinner, Quintanilla introduced Orator, Valerie Valentino, chairman of the scholarship committee. She acknowledged her committee, Guard, Lois DiFrischia and Trustee, LaCava and expressed congratulations to the honorees.

Based on their academic achievements scholastic and social involvements, she presented a $500.00 award to Neisa Carsele, a Lincoln High Senior, member of Corona D’Italia and daughter of Sons of Italy Lodge #608, member David Scopellite. In turn they expressed their appreciation to Valentino, the Corona Lodge and their mothers in attendance, Kristen Carsele and Lisa Scopellite. Carsele plans to attend Penn State University to major in biology. Griffith plans to attend Indiana State University to major in exercise science. Expressions of success and their accomplishments were extended by all in attendance.

Emcee Quintanila let the social that followed. Neisa Carsele gave a toast to all mothers and her mother, Kristen Carsele responded with a toast to all daughters. Recognition was made to Joan McGrady’s applications for lodge membership. Kuhn conducted a 50/50 drawing that was awarded to Valentino. Bingo games directed by Valentino and Quintanila concluded the event.

Sirimarco recognized the dinner committee of all the named officers and incliding Secretary, Jackie Perno; Historian, Mary Jane Folino and Alternate Delegate, Esther Santilo. The Lodge will not meet during the summer months. the next meeting will be held on September 12, 2018. at Pizza Joe’s.
