Susan M. Houk, 63, of Wayne Township, passed away at the Ellwood City Medical Center on Tuesday, April 17, 2018.
Born in Sewickley on December 28, 1954, Susan was the daughter of the late Al and Pearl Barker Alsing. Susan formerly worked at IMB Fray’s in Ellwood City. A lover of all animals, Susan enjoyed antiquing, crafts, antique cars, photography and taking motorcycle rides with her husband, Harold. Susan loved spending time with Harold at their camp along the Allegheny River.
Susan is survived by her husband, Harold Houk, a brother, Richard Alsing of Sewickley, two nieces, Patty Veers of Sharon, PA and Jessica Painter of Cranberry Township, two nephews, Christian Alsing of Center Township and Jason Alsing of Sewickley, her macaw, Blue, two dogs, Wyatt and Mackie and several cats.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Painter.
Friends will be received on Friday, April 20th from 5:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
Memorial contributions can be made in Susan’s name to the Lawrence County Humane Society, 628 Pearson Mill Rd., New Castle, PA 16101.
