Ellwood City Public Library Activities for Week of Feb. 12

Activities planned at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Monday, February 12, at 6:30 p.m. – Evening Book Discussion Group for Adults. This group usually meets the first Wednesday of the month, but because of the snowstorm last week, the meeting was rescheduled for Monday evening. The group will discuss the book, “The Usual Rules,” by Joyce Maynard. Call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Tuesday, February 13, at 6:30 p.m. — A Valentine’s Day Family Night Party is planned, featuring a variety of fun-filled activities. Since this is a family night event, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.

Wednesday, February 14, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, February 15, at 3:00 p.m. – “Food 4 Thought,” a book discussion group for students in 9th grade and up. The group meets once each month for book discussion and pizza. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, February 15, at 6:00 p.m. — Adult Knitting Group whose members meet weekly to work on individual projects. New members are welcome, so call the library for more information.

Friday, February 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The Rotary Club of Ellwood City will be at the library to assist people in purchasing their tickets to this year’s performance of the Duquesne University Tamburitzans, scheduled for Sunday, March 25th at Lincoln High School. The library will be closed on Monday, February 19, in observance of the Presidents’ Day Holiday. Normal hours will resume on Tuesday, February 20.

“Movie Night for Adults” will resume its normal monthly schedule on Wednesday, February 28. Call the library for more information, for the rest of the spring dates or to discover the titles of the films to be shown this spring.

A Birthday Party for Dr. Seuss will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1, for toddlers and preschool children. Call now for more information.

The spring session of Family Laptime and Preschool Story Time will begin the week of March 6. Call the library now for more information.
