Lynn Marie Schry, 55, of West Pittsburg passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Born July 6, 1962 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late James C. Schry and Patricia Mehard Schry formerly of Ellwood City.
Lynn graduated from Riverside High School. She was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School for the Pre-K kids for many years. She was known for work with plastic canvas and yarn. She made Christmas ornaments for the giving tree for many years and she also made the Christmons for the two trees in the sanctuary for Advent.
Born with spina bifida and in spite of many surgeries, Lynn looked forward to working at the Ellwood City Arts and Crafts Festival for the Historical Society and for her church’s dip n dots booth. She also enjoyed going to Pow Wow gatherings and the giving out of programs at the annual Boars Head Festival at church.
Survivors include her mother, Pat of West Pittsburg, her step father, Dave Sokoloski of North Sewickley Twp.; a sister, Jane (Ed) Timpano of Lewistown, Montana; two nephews, Dr. Nathan (Dr. Kiara) Timpano of Miami, Florida, Seth Timpano of Montana; three uncles and aunts, David and Joyce Fenechi of Ellwood City, Bill and Emma Jane Mehard of Charleston, SC, Fred and Donna Schry of Ellwood City; numerous cousins; special friend, Debbie Wren of Wichita, Kansas and “Jin” Strutts and Andrew Calve from church.
She was preceded in death by her father, and a brother, Bart Schry, grandparents Ruby and Bill Mehard and Mary and Leo Schry, and an aunt and uncle, Sarah and Bob Beatty.
A Celebration of Lynn’s Life will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 11:00 am with her pastor, Rev. Todd Custer officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ellwood City Historic Society or St. Joseph Indian School, 1301 N. Main St. Chamberlain, SD 57325.
