Verna Zukowski, 96

Verna Zukowski, 96, of Ellwood City, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Jameson Care Center in Neshannock Township.
Born in Chewton on April 14, 1921, Verna was the daughter of the late Michael and Karoline Krrystinski Stabryla.  Her husband, Raymond J. Zukowski preceded her in death on May 16, 1995.  Verna worked at American Bridge during WWII.  She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and its Christian Mothers.  Verna enjoyed spending time with her family.
Verna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karoline Zukowski and Burton Holt, of Ellwood City and four nieces Carol, Jan, Joy and Amy.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Verna was preceded in death by two brothers; Joseph and Julius Stabryla and five sisters; Anna Krupa, Mary Pander, Pauline Otlowski, Theresa Perza and Helen Tipton.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 1st from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Joseph A. Tomon, Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 97 Grim Avenue, Ellport.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, November 2nd at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Mark Thomas.  Entombment will follow in St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Holy Redeemer Cemetery.  Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church at 9:45 AM to form the Honor Guard.
