Edythe Mae Soltes, 90

Edythe “Edie” Mae Soltes, 90, of Mecklem Lane, Ellwood City passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Northview Estates following a brief illness.

Born January 18, 1927 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Warren and Violet Woods Warren Hutchinson. She was married to Stephen G. Soltes who passed away April 16, 1999.

Edie worked at Standard Steel Specialty Shop in Beaver Falls. She was Protestant by faith and a former Girl Scout Troop volunteer in Perry Twp.  She assisted with the Meals on Wheels Program at the Ellwood City Hospital. Edie and Steve enjoyed bowling with the Sunday Night League and dancing.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan (Tim) Stevenson of Ellwood City and Jan Soltes of Pittsburgh; and a granddaughter, Shelley R. Stevenson of North Huntingdon.

In addition to her parents and husband, Edie was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Lee Warren and a close childhood friend, Eugene “Bud” Raybuck.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday October 22 from 3 to 7 pm and on Monday, October 23 from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am at the Marshall Funeral Home 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Rev. Tod Custer will officiate the services.  Interment will follow in St. Gregory Cemetery in Zelienople.
