BC3 at Lawrence Crossing Plans Oct. 25 Open House

Visitors to an Oct. 25 open house can learn about BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing’s innovative scheduling options that reflect students’ needs, about associate degree programs that instill the professional and technical skills necessary to start a career, and how 75 percent of BC3 students graduate debt-free.

The open house will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing, 2849 W. State St., New Castle. BC3 will waive its $25 application fee for those who apply for admission during the Oct. 25 open house.

Tuition at BC3, named the No. 1 community college in the state by Schools.com, is less expensive than that of 24 colleges and universities in Western Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Business Times reported in January. The BC3 Education Foundation Inc. also awards more than $200,000 in scholarships annually.

Open house guests can learn about BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing’s 14-, 12- and 10-week sessions, and about its five-week online Fast Track courses, which are among BC3’s 89 fully online classes. BC3 has been ranked No. 13 among 117 Pennsylvania institutions in distance education by OnlineColleges.com.

Visitors can discover how students in BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing associate degree programs in business management, emergency services-police services option, human resource management and technical trades-cosmetology management option develop the skills needed to enter the work force immediately upon graduation.

BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing’s credits in business administration, criminology, early childhood education, general studies, history, physical education-sports management option, psychology, secondary education and social work can be transferred toward bachelor’s degrees at public, private and online four-year colleges and universities.

Additionally, students who complete a BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing associate degree in business administration, criminology, early childhood education, history, psychology and social work can transfer with junior standing to any Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education institution, such as Clarion, Indiana, Slippery Rock and Edinboro universities of Pennsylvania.

Students can also take pre-nursing courses at BC3 @ Lawrence Crossing and finish their associate degree at BC3’s main campus.
