Artist Bios:

Woodrow – Woodrow Cowher is a self-taught artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He has been doing commissioned portraiture since age 11 and has since explored a wide variety of media and techniques. He illustrates for London, UK based PhilosophyNow Magazine, and his painting of Socrates was recently featured as the cover art for the magazine. His work is often subject-focused and explores texture and color. A lifelong comedy fan, Woodrow has provided artwork for headlining stand-up comedians including Joe Matarese and Big Jay Oakerson.

Cassandra – Cassandra Douglas is a professional journalist who paints, draws, and does photography on the side. She specifically enjoys creating elaborate fairy-tale like images. Her photography has won two awards including the city of Pittsburgh 2016 art award (2nd place) and won 1st place in the McConnell’s Mill Heritage Contest 2017. She’s been interested in art since being a child, with a specific interest in horses and fairytale subjects.

Kate – Kate Hiser is a professional Graphic Design artist and photographer. She received her Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Clarion University. Kate works at Dot & Bow Paperie in Ellwood City and as a photographer for Amanda Bubb Photography. Both give her the ability to create art for a living, as she enjoys creating personal stationery as well as taking creative photographs. In her free time she paints, sketches, embroiders, and crochets. Her favorite artist quote comes from Pablo Picasso “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” It has been her mission in life to follow this quote in life and pass this along to her daughter, Piper. She especially loves to pass her love of art on to her daughter, whether it’s coloring with crayons or making masterpieces on canvas.

Katie – Katie Keally manages her own small alterations business from her home and she designs dance costumes for Studio P. She was a painting major in college and while she still dabbles in canvased art, she prefers to use fabric as her paint color and clothing as her canvas. For the art show she will be featuring some of her pastel drawings on sandpaper and a design or two.
