Ellwood City Area Public Library Activities for Week of October 16, 2017

Activities scheduled at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:

Monday, October 16, at 1:30 p.m. – Afternoon Book Discussion Group for Adults. The group will discuss the book, “One in a Million Boy,” by Monica Wood. New members are welcome, so call the library at 724-758-6458 for more information.

Tuesday, October 17, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. — Family Laptime, designed for babies as young as 6 months of age, toddlers and preschoolers. This fall session will be held weekly on Tuesdays. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.

Tuesday, October  17, at 6:00 p.m. – A program on “Night Gardening,” presented by the Master Gardeners of Lawrence County, features different ways to enjoy your garden when evening falls. There is a $5 fee to attend which is shared by the Master Gardeners and the library. Registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome. Call the library for more information.

Wednesday, October 18, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” is a program designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, October 19, at 10:00 a.m. — Preschool Storytime, designed for children 3 years of age and older. Featured are stories, songs, finger plays and more. This fall session will be held each week on Thursdays. Registration is requested, so call the library for more information.

Thursday, October 19, at 3:00 p.m. – “Just 4 Girls,” a book discussion group for girls in 9th grade and up. The group meets every month, year-around for book discussion and pizza. Call the library for more information.

Thursday, October 19, at 6:30 p.m. – A Halloween Party for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children. Featured will be stories, songs, games and other fun activities. Those attending are invited to wear their costumes. Registration is required, so call the library for more information

Saturday, October 20, at 2:00 p.m. – “Family Movie Event,” featuring a full-length, feature film for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children. Since this is a family event, all children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required. Call the library for more information.

This month’s “Movie Night for Adults” will be held on Wednesday, October 25, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Featured are new-to-DVD films and refreshments. Call the library for more information or to discover the title of the film to be shown.
