Lincoln High Grad Fires 76, Sparks BC3 to Win for Third Time in Three Outings

Bakerstown, PA – Tyler Good, a 2017 graduate of Lincoln High School in his third appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, led the Pioneers to victory for the third consecutive match by firing a 3-over 76 Sunday against the Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce at Pittsburgh North Golf Course.

Good’s 76 was a stroke better than that of CCAC-Boyce’s Holden Hitchcock.

Good shot a 76 on Sept. 15 at The Links at Spring Church Golf Course in Apollo to lead BC3 past Westmoreland County Community College; and an 81 on Sept. 19 to spark BC3 past CCAC-Boyce at Lake Arthur Golf Course.

“He is doing well,” said BC3 golf coach Bill Miller, whose squad is 10-1. “I have to give him a lot of credit.”

Good exhibits confidence on the course, Miller said, averages between 240 and 265 yards on his drives and is efficient on the greens.

“He is avoiding the three-putts,” Miller said. “And that’s a key. His length sometimes helps him get the opportunity for a few more birdies. That’s it in a nutshell so far.”

Matt Benson, a graduate of Shenango High, shot an 82 for BC3 on Sunday, followed by Anthony Lewis (Butler High) and Michael Rozzi (Neshannock High) with 83s; Nate McCandless (Shenango) with a 93 and Bryan Peterson (Shenango) with a 94.

BC3 visits Westmoreland County Community College at noon Friday at Valley Green Golf and Country Club, Greensburg; and hosts CCAC-Boyce, Westmoreland, Penn State-New Kensington and Penn State-Fayette to close the regular season Oct. 3 Lake Arthur Golf Club, Butler.
