Kirk A. “Zeke” Zikeli, 61

Kirk A. “Zeke” Zikeli, 61, of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, September 8, 2017 in the Allegheny General Hospital.

Kirk was born on March 16, 1956 in Ellwood City to the late Karl R. and Doris H. Gillespie Zikeli. He had graduated from the Lawrence County Vo-Tech in 1974, and from EMT Training School. Zeke worked  for Buccelli’s Service Station, Pete’s Flower Shop, Ellwood Ambulance Service, Ellwood BP Station, Harry’s Service Station, and then became the owner and operator of Zikeli Auto Repair. He was one of the first EMT’s and a well known auto mechanic in the Ellwood City area. He also is a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Zeke was an avid model train collector, and enjoyed tracing family genealogy, fishing, boating, motorcycles, and watching Nascar racing.

Zeke is survived by Terri Brown Zikeli, his son Zach Zikeli both of Ellwood City, his step-son Matt (Tammi) Redmond of Harlensburgh, his step-grandson Clayton Redmond, his sister Karla Gorgas of Wampum, his brothers Robert Zikeli & Lori Coulter, and Bruce (Donna) Zikeli of Ellwood City, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Kevin W. “Zeke” Zikeli, his brother-in-law Walter “Wally” Gorgas, and his nephew Tom Gorgas.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday from 9-11 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church. A Celebration of Life Service for Zeke will be held on Saturday in the church at 11:00 am with Pastor Peggy Suhr-Barkley officiating. Inurnment will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.

Memorial contributions in Kirk’s name may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church,  207 Spring Ave., Ellwood City, Pa 16117.
