Sarah Costa, 88

Mrs. Sarah Costa, 88, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Ellwood City Hospital.

Mrs. Costa was born on December 8, 1928 in Ellwood City to the late Anthony and Christina Toma Casuccio. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1946. Sarah also graduated from the New Castle Beauty School, and attended classes at West Minister College, Slippery Rock College, and the University of Pittsburgh. She worked as a cosmetology teacher at the New Castle Beauty School and the Lawrence County Vo-Tech for many years. She also is a member of the Dayspring Harvest Ministries. Sarah enjoyed reading, painting ceramics, and was a wonderful cook.

She is survived by her daughter Christine Costa of Ellwood City, her sons Dr. Lawrence W. (Nancy) Costa Jr. of Ellwood City, and Dr. Marc Costa of Bridgeport, West Virginia, and her grandchildren Lawrence Costa III and Samantha Costa.

Mrs. Costa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence W. Costa, Sr. in 2005, her sisters Rose Palladino and Christine Tomeo, and her brothers John, Anthony “Tim”, and Charles Casuccio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-8 pm and on Friday from 10-11 am in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A service for Mrs. Costa will be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Anzevino officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
