Frank Joseph Stone, 30, of Slippery Rock is facing charges of driving under the influence, reckless driving, possession of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while operating privilege is suspended.

According to the criminal complaint, on June 30, the Ellwood City Police Department was called for an erratic driver coming into Ellwood City through a construction zone. Reports were stating the vehicle was all over the road and had pulled over at a local restaurant.

Officers made contact with the vehicle, knocking on the driver side window startling the driver identified as Stone. Stone quickly put his hands down like he was hiding something.

Stone was ordered to show the officer his hands when he again attempted to stuff something next to him – eventually attempting to conceal and eat the item.

Upon inspection of the vehicle officers located a glass pipe on the front seat with a hard white substance in it, which Stone revealed was crystal meth that he was about to smoke.

Stone advised there was more meth in the back of the drivers seat and $1143 in cash was in his glove box. He stated he was texting and driving, which was causing his erratic driving.

The drivers license check showed he was driving under suspension.

Stone consented to a drug test and stated that the officers would find traces of meth, marijuana, and other drugs in his system. The lab came back positive for meth and oxycodone.

  1. I hate to keep “pounding” on this but something needs to be done about so many “stoned” people!
