Juliet (Julie) Marie Plavecsky, 88

Mrs. Juliet (Julie) Marie Ottobre Plavecsky, 88, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2017 in her residence. She was born on July 8, 1929 to the late Luigi and Catherine Loccisano Ottobre in Ellwood City.

Julie was a graduate of Lincoln High School class of 1947 and was employed at the former Ellwood City Knitting Mill and the former Mattress Plant.

Julie was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish and was also a member of the church choir where she sang for Sunday mass and for funerals. Julie and her husband Paul were recipients of the Sister Mary Zucca, “Hand of Faith Award” on November 17, 2012 for their dedication and service to the church. She was a member of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers Lady’s Guild and was a volunteer at the Holy Redeemer School cafeteria for over 30 years where she made cookies for the school’s lunch program until she became ill. She loved baking and singing and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Paul Plavecsky of Ellwood City and were married on August 21, 1948. She has six children, three sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent (Paulette) Plavecsky of Chippewa Twp., David (Anna Marie) Plavecsky of Koppel, and Paul Plavecsky, Jr. of Ellwood City, as well as three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen (Nick) Mancini of Ellwood City, Barbara Plavecsky of Ohio, and Debra (Rico) Santiago of Connecticut, three sisters-in-law, Ann Plavecsky, Helen Plaveczki, and Dena Ottobre all of Ellwood City, and ten grandchildren, Kara (James) Cater, Brett  and Erin Plavecsky, Nick and Dan Mancini, Michelle (Sam) Nissen, Nicole Johnson, Linsey Plavesky, Robert Bronder and Rayne Santiago, and two great granddaughters, Madison Leigh Cater and Camryn Nicole Cater, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers, Eugene “Johnny”, Carl, Emanuel, James, Rudy, Albert Rocco, Joseph, and Warren and two sisters, Theresa “Daisy” Murdocco and Anna Mancuso.

The family would like to thank the Allegheny Home Health Care and Allegheny Hospice as well as her family doctor, Dr. Eileen Boyle, for their tender and loving care.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Mark Thomas officiating. Entombment will follow at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery, St. Peter’s Mausoleum. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Thursday by 9:20 am. Members of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mothers are asked to meet at the church on Thursday by 9:50 am to form an honor guard
