WPIAL Track Championship Qualifiers

Several local athletes qualified for states during the Track WPIAL Championships yesterday held at Baldwin High School.

Riverside Qualifiers:

Lance Fisher is the best in the WPIAL Class 2A in both discus and shot put.

Calvin Wetzel took first in Boys 300 Meter Hurdles AA.

Jeremy Spicher took fourth in the Boys 300 Meter Hurdles AA.

Max McHale took eighth in Boys Pole Vault AA.

Jesse Fornataro took seventh in Boys Triple Jump AA.

Elsa Antal took second place in the 100 hurdles.

Sydney Wolf took second in the Girls 800 Meter Run AA.

Elizabeth Scherer took seventh in Girls 3200 Meter Run AA.

Kara Seebacher took second in Girls Pole Vault AA.

Jessica Klinzing took sixth in Girls Discus Throw AA.

 

Ellwood City Qualifiers:

Ellwood City girls Mia DeCaria, Taylor Petrak, Alena Battaglia, Avory Elchison, and Gracie Kauffman placed fourth as a team in the 4x 100 relay.

Avory Elchison of Ellwood City placed fifth in the high jump.

Billy Lott finished sixth in the 1600 Meter Run AA.

The top four finishers in each event qualify for the PIAA Championships on May 26 and May 27 at Shippensburg University. Those who finish in fifth through eighth place must meet qualifying standards, which are in parentheses next to each event.

    the name of the Ellwood City PIAA Qualifier is spelled wrong.
    it should be :
    Alena Battaglia.
