Roth’s Walkoff Gives Ellwood City Wolverines Victory Over Beaver Falls

A walk-off single led Ellwood City Wolverines past Beaver Falls 1-0 on Wednesday.

The game was tied at zero with Ellwood City Wolverines batting in the bottom of the seventh when Anthony Roth singled off of Matt Veon, driving in one run. Shane Sedgwick started things off strong for Ellwood City Wolverines as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Ellwood City Wolverines’s pitchers struck out five on the way to victory. A double by Emilio Allegra in the first inning was a positive for Beaver Falls. Noah Rinker earned the win for Ellwood City Wolverines. He went one and one-third innings, giving up zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking one.

Daunte Hill took the loss for Beaver Falls. He tossed six and a third innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out eight. Sedgwick started the game for Ellwood City Wolverines. He tossed five and two-thirds innings, surrendering zero runs, six hits, and striking out four.

Anthony Roth went 2-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with one run batted in. Dalynn Brickner went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Beaver Falls in hits.

Thellman Strong at the Plate as Riverside Panthers Varsity Defeats Mohawk Area

Ty Thellman gave Mohawk Area fits, as he bagged four hits in Riverside Panthers Varsity‘s 12-2 victory on Wednesday. Thellman singled in the first, singled in the second, doubled in the third, and doubled in the fifth.

Riverside Panthers Varsity grabbed an early lead. Riverside Panthers Varsity scored on a single by Dylan Speicher, a single by Gunnar Boehm, and a groundout by Will Yasenka in the first inning.

Mohawk Area took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Mohawk Area.

Riverside Panthers Varsity took the lead for good with five runs in the first inning. In the first there was an error, scoring two runs, Cristian Cicchinelli hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, Boehm singled off of Cummings, driving in one run, and Cummings induced Yasenka to ground out, but one run scored.

Boehm earned the win for Riverside Panthers Varsity. He tossed five innings, surrendering two runs, five hits, and striking out nine. Cummings took the loss for Mohawk Area. He pitched one and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs, nine hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Riverside Panthers Varsity had 13 hits in the game. Ty Thellman, Boehm, Ricky Wass, and Austin Dambach each collected multiple hits for Riverside Panthers Varsity. Boehm led Riverside Panthers Varsity with four runs batted in. He went 3-for-3 on the day. Riverside Panthers Varsity tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Anthony Tollari led the way with two.

Mohawk Area collected five hits. Cameron and Ziegler each collected multiple hits for Mohawk Area.
