Edward J. Wyszomierski, 93

Mr. Edward J. Wyszomierski, 93, of Ellwood City, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the Good Samaritan Hospice.

Mr. Wyszomierski was born on May 11, 1923 in Beaver Falls to the late John and Genevieve Ksiazak Wyszomierski. He had graduated from Beaver Falls High School with the class of 1941, and attended the Gairfield Business School in Beaver Falls. Ed enlisted with the U.S. Army on January 26, 1943 and served with the Headquarters Company Student and Service Regiment Engineer School until his discharge on February 23, 1946 with the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Service Medal, and the Victory Medal. Ed then worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Beaver Falls Post office as a payroll supervisor and fleet manager for over 30 years. He was an active member of the Beaver Falls Elk’s Lodge #348 where he served as Exalted Ruler 1963-1964, Lodge Secretary 1977-2000, District State Vice President 1979-1980, District Deputy 1980-1981, State Trustee 1990-1992, and on the District Advisory Board for several years. He was also a member of the Polish Falcons, the Serra Club, and was a bingo caller at various places in Beaver Falls.

Mr. Wyszomierski is survived by his son, Stephen (Beth) Wyszomierski of Wayne Twp., his grandsons, Ross and Mark Wyszomierski, his sister-in-law, Ann Colella of New Galilee, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Vivian Colella Wyszomierski whom he married on September 16, 1950 and passed away on April 2, 2011.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday at 12:30 pm in the Holy Redeemer Church with Father Christopher Mannerino officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Falls. Those attending the funeral mass are asked to meet at the funeral home on Monday by 11:50 am.
