The Lady Wolverines started the season off on the right foot with a 13-3 victory over the Union Scotties on Saturday. The game was halted after 5 innings due to the mercy rule.
Anna Ferrucci led the 9 hit attack with 3 singles and 2 runs scored. Natalia Greco added two singles, 3 RBI’s and scored twice. Breonna Streit and Megan Siegfried contributed doubles. Streit scored once and added an RBI while Siegfried added 2 RBI’s.
Ariana Garroway singled and scored three times and Brooklyn Magill rounded out the hit parade with a single. Reagan Mittler drove in 3 runs and scored twice and Zoe Kalantzis also scored twice. Eisabela Miller contributed a run and stolen base to the cause.
Skyla Greco got the win in the circle as she scattered 4 hits over 5 innings of work. She fanned 7 and walked 4.
The defense was solid as they committed just one error. Garroway controlled the running game as she gunned down both runners attempting to steal.
The Lady Wolverines will resume action on Tuesday as they entertain the Blackhawk Cougars in the home opener at Stiefel Park. First pitch is slated for 5:00pm.
