Ms. Ruth V. Bell, 63, of New Castle passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in the UPMC Magee Hospital.
Ruth was born on July 15, 1953 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Lewis and Geraldine Alben Bell Johnston. She is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1971, and attended the Cincinnati Bible College for 1 year. Ruth then earned her Degree in Education from Geneva College. She had worked as a substitute teacher for over thirty years for the New Castle School District at the elementary level. She is an active member of the First Christian Church in Franklin Twp. where she served as a youth group councilor and church camp leader. Ruth was also a long time member of the New Castle YMCA.
Ruth is survived by her brother Mickey Bell and his companion Patty Libert of Ellwood City, her nieces and nephew, Debbie Bell of New Castle, Michael Bell of Ellwood City, and Daniell Barnett of Evans City, and her great nieces, Kaitlin and Shelby Barnett. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Tom L. Bell.
As per Ruth’s wishes there will not be a public visitation. A memorial service for Ruth will be held at the First Christian Church at a date to be announced. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. Memorial contributions in Ruth’s name may be made to the First Christian Church, 110 Ada Dr., Ellwood City, Pa 16117.
