87)Mr. Fred Cistolo, 87, of Ellwood City passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in the LaCasa Personnel Care Home in New Castle.

Mr. Cistolo was born on December 21, 1929 in Ellwood City to the late Carmine R. and Elvira Rotolo Cistolo. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1947, and the Holy Redeemer Parish. He served with the U.S. Army from June 11, 1947 until his discharge on December 10, 1948 in Alaska with the 2nd Battalion, Headquarters Company 23rd infantry. He had worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill for many years.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Gilda Cistolo, Lucy McClurg, and Eleanor Cistolo in infancy, and his brothers, Felix Cistolo, Albert Cistolo, and Felix in infancy. A private interment will be held at the Holy Redeemer Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services.
