The Northwest Commission Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), in partnership with the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce, Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation and the Duquesne University SBDC, will present a free training seminar entitled “Government Contracting Basics and Getting Ready for the Government Market” on Thursday, March 9, from 10:00 A.M. – Noon at The Confluence, 214 East Washington Street, New Castle PA 16101.

This workshop will provide an introduction to government contracting and cover the basics of doing business with government agencies including registrations, regulations, certifications and other factors to consider when getting ready to enter this market.

Melissa Becker of the PTAC will discuss aspects of federal, state and local government contracting including what and how government agencies buy, a step-by-step approach to government contracting, and the free services provided by the government-funded PTAC program.
