Ellwood City Man Facing Child Pornography Charges

A local Ellwood City man pleaded guilty yesterday to distributing sadistic child pornography on a peer-to-peer network from a computer at his house, where he lived with his parents.

Lucas Klobetanz, 40, was state-investigated and charged in 2015 after he admittedly stalked Amish children in Lawrence and Mercer County in an attempt to lure them into outhouses near Amish school grounds.

He pleaded guilty to stalking and prosecutors dropped a related charge of luring. He was sentenced to three months to two years in that case.

Separate to the previous incident, Klobetanz was being federally investigated by the FBI when they discovered he possessed and shared child pornography, tracing the shared data to his Ellwood City home location.

After agents and officers obtained a search warrant on Dec. 4, 2015, they uncovered 640 videos of young boys being sexually abused, hundreds of similar still images, and a box of printed child porn in his possession.

Klobetanz was confronted at work where he admitted the disturbing collection was his.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Smolar, much of the porn was violent.

Updates to follow.
