Deadly Crash in North Sewickley

A crash that happened slightly before 7a.m. this morning on Route 65 going toward New Brighton has claimed the life of a teenager and injured another.

According to another news source, 19-year-old old Isaiah Hunter of New Brighton appeared to drift into the opposing lane of traffic, causing a head on collision with an SUV.

Hunter’s car set on fire while other drivers attempted to free him, but he did not survive.

The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital after complaining of lower back pain and has since been released, someone who attempted to free the teen was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.

Hunter was driving to work and it has been determined that weather was not a factor in the crash.

Why would weather be a factor other than the driver going too fast for conditions and skidding over the center line. If that was the case, he would still be at fault and should be prosecuted accordingly. Weather doesn’t drive the car, a human does! Perhaps playing with a cell phone is a matter here!

    • The young man passed away in the accident and regardless of what caused it he unfortunately doesn’t get a do over. He was on his way to work at 6:45am so maybe he fell asleep. Have a little empathy for the family instead of speculating as to the cause. Prayers to his family and friends. May he Rest in Peace.

    • Ok so i read your comment this am and let me start by asking where is your compassion?? This young man had a family and people who loved him dearly. It was an unfortunate accident!!!!! He is in Gods hands now! I feel sorry for sad people like yourself who have nothing better to do with their time but talk about things they know nothing about!!! As for the cell phone…IT WAS DEAD AND MELTED IN THE CENTER CONSOLE THE POLICE RULED IT OUT! I pray that your son or daughter will always be safe…….

Of course it is sad when ANYONE dies! There’s no doubt about that! My point is these are not “accidents”… they are collisions. Every collision has a cause. Every collision is either preventable or non-preventable. Most collisions are preventable and caused by human error. Collisions don’t just “happen”… they are caused by somebody doing something or their failure to do something. Very rarely are collisions caused by mechanical failure. Even a tire blowout at highway speed can be handled without causing a collision. Even the reason for a blowout is often human error by failure to keep tires properly inflated for example. All of us should remember this man and in his honor be positive our driving will not cause a preventable collision.

    • Accidents and Collisions are the same thing!!! Not all of them are preventable…murders are not preventable robberies are not preventable…..you hurting this family even more, NOW THATS PREVENTABLE. This world is so full of hate so why dont you make yourself an example and prevent that.

You’re a complete jerk without a drop of empathy!! This was my son!! Whom was an extremely sweet, smart, talented, responsible 19 year old who always put God and his family first. And would help anyone including strangers because that’s who he was!! He in fact was not speeding. We timed his route from our home to the accident. We actually arrived 2 minutes prior to the 911 call. We believe that possibly an animal in the rural area ran out an spooked him. Not that I owe you an explanation. But keep your insensitive comments to yourself!! What if it was your child?? We’re living every parents worst nightmare!! Every single day is filled with so much grief. Our hearts are in a million pieces. How dare you!! God help you… I won’t hide behind a screen name you coward.
