Lucille B. Freed, 91

Lucille B. Freed, 91, of West Pittsburg passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a short illness.

Born February 7, 1925 in New Castle, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary E. Richey Stickle. She was married to Edward L. Freed for 51 years when he passed away on January 16,1999.

Lucille retired from W.R. Grace Corporation where she was an executive secretary. She had formerly worked at Shenango China, JC Penney’s and US Steel in Pittsburgh during the war. She was an active member of the West Pittsburgh United Methodist Church, having served as the former secretary/treasurer, and belonged to their Women’s Society. She was a member of the New Galilee Order of Eastern Star and Wimodesis. She was also a member of the Laurel Travel Club, Lauren Homemakers Club, West Pittsburgh Senior Citizens, and the US Steel Woman Retirees.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Latcheran of West Pittsburg, Mary (Carl) Carney of New Castle; two sisters, Marie Wiley of New Castle, Ida Rogan of Madisonville, KY; 2 grandchildren, Christopher (Christina) Latcheran, Brian (Jessica) Latcheran; and 4 great grandchildren,Xavier (Tabby) Coulter, Jaidyn , Boston, and Brooklyn Latcheran.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Violet Shellenberger, Gladys Murinscak, and a brother, Ernest Stickle.

Per Lucille wishes, private service were held. Interment took place in Grandview Cemetery.
