Criminal Complaints: Man Faces Felony Charges After Assault

After an incident occurred last month, Zachary Franklin Pounds, 20, of Fox Street is facing felony charges.

Pounds and his older brother, Joseph, caused a disturbance at Weisz’s Hazel Manor, resulting in a man needing to be life flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.

The two brothers were ordering food when Zachary walked up to a man and started yelling profound racial slurs, punching the man and striking him over the head with a beer bottle, the victim was knocked on the ground.

During the altercation, Zachary managed to stab the victim in the arm, resulting in a three-layer deep gash wound, about six centimeters wide and 14 centimeters long, ultimately requiring a skin graft to heal.

The victim also sustained a fractured eye socket and numbness to the right side of his lip.

After the victim was released from the hospital for recovery, he had to be readmitted to the Beaver Medical Center due to suffering a Pulmonary Embolism blood clot that traveled to his lungs as a result of his assault injury. He further stated he has to be on medication and oxygen if he is allowed to go home.

Due to the severity of the victims injuries, Zachary Pounds will be facing two counts of felony-grade aggravated assaults, and four counts of misdemeanor-grade charges including simple assault with a deadly weapon, reckless endangering of another person, terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, and ethic intimidation.

His brother, 23 year old Joseph Pounds, also faces four counts of misdemeanor charges following his actions during the incident, including simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and two charges of disorderly conduct.

  1. Throw away the trash! The problem is this scum keeps getting released and let back out into the streets! It needs to stop here lock them up for 20+ years and keep out town safe.
