Select Medical Invests in Ellwood Health Care

With all the hear-say that the Ellwood Hospital may soon be closing, it’s comforting to know that medical companies are still investing in local practices.

Centered inside the Creekside Commons lies a cozy physical therapy office known as NovaCare Rehabilitation.

Formally Keystone Physical Therapy, NovaCare Rehabilitation is basically the same but different: after Select Medical took over Keystone in the spring, they have since changed more than just the name, introducing new management and proudly providing patients an even better physical therapy experience than ever before.

Tony Sacerino, the appointed physical therapist at the Wampum Ave. location, says that the business has so much to offer patients.

Not only does the practice specialize in physical therapy needs in the office, but they focus on providing patients with equipment that has been backed by extensive research to ensure the patient can work on improving their conditions at home, ultimately speeding up the rehabilitation process.

The practice provides patients an unmatched opportunity for flexible scheduling and even the possibility for one on one time with the physical therapist. The therapist works with all ages including pediatric and elderly and is prepared to handle assisting all patients manage their conditions -ranging from physical disorders such as muscle injuries, cardiovascular rehabilitation, pre/post-op orthopedic, weight loss, and many more, to neurological disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s Disease. All patients are provided with a personal workout program, formulated specifically for their needs.novacare2

Sacerino further stressed the importance of making patients feel as though they are being treated as individuals. “It’s no doubt that no one feels comfortable walking into a doctors office, and that’s why I do everything I can to make my patients feel at home. We are a small, quite office that allows patients a calm and private atmosphere, and I am very genuine when it comes to caring about my patients -I want to know everything about them as well as them to know everything about me. I want them to feel this is a safe place and that we care about and believe in them -it’s not just about physically improving the patient, its about providing mental support as well, which will hopefully give them the self esteem to believe in themselves, aiding their healing process.”

The benefits don’t stop at researched and proven workout equipment, personally formulated exercise routines, and an encouraging atmosphere, the location also offers onsite hot, cold, and electrical stimulation therapy for patients to utilize under the supervision of the therapist.

NovaCare proudly accepts ALL forms of insurance including federal and private and even offers patients who qualify, the ability to take advantage of their Wellness Program, which provides generous discounts. Anyone with private health care is allowed 30 days of physical therapy without a doctors prescription, while anyone with federal insurance must have a prescription prior to any therapy. Consultations are free.

The public is welcome to visit the practice to take advantage of the onsite Active Care Products that are for sale in the front office.

Sacerino says the practice doesn’t plan on going anywhere anytime soon, so patients can look forward to a long-lived reliable physical therapy office located right here in Ellwood.
